Great country breakfast! Perfect grits, eggs just like only I can make them, wonderful fresh made biscuit. Just the right thickness of sugared cured ham.Best place I have had breakfast ( except when I cook!) in a really long time! I will be back next time I'm in Calhoun, Ga.

I'm never disappointed with Big John's. I'm either there for breakfast with my buddies from high school (maybe every 2 or 3 months), or calling in to pick up a jumbo bacon cheeseburger plate with fries and slaw (maybe every couple of months). Their gravy reminds me of my grandmother's. Biscuits are nice and fluffy. I'm not what you'd call a "regular" even though I live within a mile of the place, so it's funny watching all the heads swing around when you walk in the door. Couldn't recommend any higher if this is your kind of food.Parking: If you show up during their busy times you may be out of luck on a spot close to the door.

Tried calling on a Saturday to place a to go order. The lady on the phone was rude and kept talking over me. She also doesn’t know how to take an order, and will want you to recite the menu exactly to her or she will get angry. If you want to make returning customers have sweetheart get another job.
