Had the fried shrimp and coleslaw for lunch. Very good shrimp, perfectly cooked and breaded. Ordered the crab cheese dip thing with bread it was good too. Server was great, never waited for anything. Great seafood choice when you in town.

As someone originally from the coast, finding genuinely fresh seafood in Atlanta felt like a mission impossible—until we discovered Goin' Coastal. This place is a true treasure for seafood lovers, bringing that authentic taste of the ocean right to our landlocked locale. The seafood here is always fresh and expertly prepared, giving us a taste of home with every dish. Whether it’s the oysters that taste like they’ve just been plucked from the sea, or the perfectly grilled fish, Goin' Coastal never disappoints. The ambiance is made even better by the outstanding service at the bar. John and Phil are among the best bartenders around, always ready with a perfectly mixed drink and a friendly chat. It’s rare to find bartenders who know their craft as well as they do, making each visit as enjoyable as the last. And let’s not forget about Zack, the owner. He’s not just a super nice guy; he genuinely cares about every guest and makes sure everyone feels welcome and satisfied. It's his personal touch that really sets Goin' Coastal apart. For anyone in Cherokee Country or surrounding areas missing the coast and craving some fresh seafood, Goin' Coastal is a must-visit. It’s more than just a meal—it’s an experience that brings a little bit of coastal life to our city.

We visited before with a large party of 12 for a birthday and decided to try to come back after a few months. Tried calling to make a reservation because we know large families have a hard time getting tables without a heads up, only to be told that they do not take them… show up with another large party only to be told that they can not accommodate… thanks. Can’t see how well y’all function not being able to accommodate 9 people.
I love the options for fresh fish! Everything was delicious and the staff was knowledgeable about pairings for sides and wines with fish. Quaint, beautiful spot. Can’t wait to return and try a different fresh catch!

Sat in bar area and received friendly, good service. Food a little slow but more important, Soup barely warm, and some items of our main dish were room temperature. Goin stated steamer problem and offered to replace items, not the way you want to enjoy your dinner.

New appetizer was battered fried blue crab claws( more batter than crab) , okay but not great. They did not have our favorite swordfish. Spouse had fried shrimp which were large and he enjoyed them, with hush puppies as his side. I had the Red Fish with parmesan crust, flavor was fine, but texture was mushy. My side was collards ( too spicy) a no could not eat, so got the broccoli which was not hot and on the raw side. Prices have gone way up from the last time we were there were there (6 months ago). Won't be rushing back.

The seafood is very fresh, the staff is very knowledge, and the wine was good. Loved the idea of fresh food and simple prep, the only thing that kept me from giving 5 stars was that every dish (2 starters and 4 entrees) were served luke warm. It really diminished the whole meal.

Had a reservation. Was seated at the worst table in the restaurant. Right by the door that was constantly opened and closed with many people coming in and going out. Our waitress was very nice and accommodating. My husband's fish was overcooked and all of us had grits were very strange and not what I expected having had delicious ones before at the restaurant. Food came out very slow.
