Very good chicken hibachi, sushi is sub par at best, the taste / texture of their sushi is not good. Plus we ordered like 4 specialty rolls and they were done within 10 mins. Wouldn’t recommend this place for its sushi, if you want good fried rice you will be happy.

Mainly leaving a review here for new people. I won’t say the food is bad here because it isn’t. The food has always been decent for me. But if you’re looking for cheap food this isn’t the place. If you want good cheap sushi rolls go down to food city and pick up some rolls from there. They are honestly about the same.

Save yourself the bellyache and go somewhere else. I went to Kumo in April of 2024 and my sushi was inedible and got thrown in the trash, and whatever my friend ordered made her throw up. I took a break from this place for a year and recently went back to give it another chance, it was good 2 times and then when we ordered it yesterday and brought it home, it tore up mine and my partners stomachs. This place is way too expensive to risk getting bad food.

I have been ordering sushi from here for years now. They are always consistent. Sushi options are limited in Cartersville so there are few places to choose from. I have tried the other places that were fancier than this place, and cost more money only to receive subpar food and service. Kumo always provides excellent customer service and the food is presented well and tastes very good. I like their clear soup, ginger salad, and Bento Boxes. They are very generous with servings. I gave it 4 stars on Food because while it is the best place in Cartersville, I've eaten at a ton of sushi places all over Atlanta, and when I compare it overall, they do take shortcuts in their rolls. Still, I can't drive to Atlanta for the absolute best, but this is the best in Cartersville, IMO.

Small portions and below average sushi. See pics, unappetizing fish - admittedly the close up makes the chirashi foah look bigger than actual. The waitress was nice. But when I was done with my Chirashi, I asked for the menu again. She asked if I was still hungry, I told her it was a very small portion. She pointed it was 12 pc,... I pointed small pc for $25. She was happy to take my order for 2 more small rolls.
Im 6'2, 194 lbs...a big guy but not an over eater.
$58 for 1 person. No tip.
Sorry, I wanted to like Kumo.

don’t get greeted by the dude at the host stand, he likes to throw the straws and silverware on the table and be rude. Didn’t even order food. don’t recommend. Service is everything lol.

Kumo has the best sushi and hibachi in town. No question. They’re consistent and with great service. Honestly, I’m surprised they aren’t lined up out the door every day. Kudos, Kumo!
I just picked up a to go lunch which included salad, NY Strip steak, veggies, stir fried rice. In all the meal was right at 16.00. The salad had two bites of iceburg lettuce and the NY strip was suppose to be cooked to MR. The steak had no pink in it what so ever and tasted old. this tells me that this dish was probably a mistake during their lunch period and they saved it to resell it. I won't go back ever. So disappointed. I have worked in restaurants my whole life and I know what MR steak looks like and I also know this was cooked way before I got there after 10 mins of ordering
