Brisket, greens and Brunswick stew. Not one thing was how it should be. Dry meat, watered down sauce.. greens no flavor just water and I don’t know where they got the recipe for the Brunswick stew but please give that back. Taste like someone has just given up and dgaf, they are just going through the motions. Like a bad marriage.. It’s a hard pass for me. Never again

Just want to give a shout out and a great big THANK YOU to Scott's Walk-Up Bar-B-Que in Cartersville. Yesterday we were already stressing a little at work when we realized we had about 20 more guests than expected, coming to a very special, upper management, retirement luncheon. We left immediately and ran into Scott’s a few mins early for our pickup, in hopes that we could buy extra food to have enough. We told them where we were from and that we were there to pick up our order but needed to add to it if it all possible. They started looking at each other and things quickly felt a little uncomfortable, and sheer panic set in for us. We told them we had been talking to Julie and they said, “we don’t have a Juile. You must have ordered from the Scott’s in South Ga!” Dear Lord did the panic set in then!!! I said we have 70 people coming for a retirement luncheon in about 45 mins! Can you please help us??!! They asked what we needed, which included six butts with slaw, potato salad and beans and more tea. They quickly went to work and had us out of there in about 20 mins. THEY SAVED US AND WE ARE FOREVER GRATEFUL!!! And, as always, their food was amazing!! Please go support this business!! They are in Cartersville on Tennessee St. And keep them in mind if you are having an event in the area and are looking for great BBQ. They will take care of you! Thank you Scott’s Walk-Up Bar-B-Que!!

Our recent Saturday evening visit was, unfortunately, a complete letdown from start to finish. Walking in, we were the only customers, yet there were roughly eight employees gathered at a table in the lobby. Honestly, that should have been our first clue.
Things went downhill from there. They were out of almost everything, leaving me with very limited options. I ended up settling for a pork plate that came with an incredibly skimpy portion of Brunswick stew and what tasted like chemically-treated, bagged coleslaw. All of this was served in tiny containers that looked more like they belonged with salad dressing than a main meal and the pork itself was very dry and hard, far from what you'd expect. I did enjoy tons of the mustard BBQ sauce. It was tasty.
The portion size was absolutely minuscule, especially when you consider the price. It felt like a significant rip-off for the small amount of food we received. The quality and value simply weren't there. We left feeling completely underwhelmed and regret choosing to dine here. Save your money and go elsewhere for a satisfying meal.

Great customer service, and then there is the BBQ Chicken. Every bite is delicious. You just want to take some home. I didn't take pictures of the first and second plates because they smelled so good!

I highly recommend Scott’s Walk-Up Barbecue to anyone craving authentic, mouthwatering barbecue.
The pulled pork and ribs are outstanding — tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The homemade peach cobbler with ice cream is delicious .
The casual walk-up service adds to the charm, making it feel like a true neighborhood gem. Prices are reasonable, and the overall vibe is relaxed and welcoming.

Five stars all the way !

Thin non traditional sauce, or a vinegar and hot pepper flake sauce. Pulled pork was ok but without good sauce was just ok. Mac and cheese ok. FYI Brisket only on Fridays.

Great spot, lived there for years,am a Yank transplant/refugee from Jersey, now in Atlanta. What kills me is it's only 65 miles away but can take 2 hours, and driving on the autobahn here really makes you feel alive,if you like living life on the edge.Anyway, one thing that stands out is their home made BBQ sauces too,I used to send them home to civilize the barbarians back there to what BBQ is.When I now occasionally hit Cartersville I just happen to miss their hours, and it is truly the agony of defeat,I think I'm gonna call and see if they'll just send me the sauce and back home too, that would be fantastic,it's simply the best.Atl has nothing on it.

No fries and a bottle of vinegar for BBQ sauce. I won't waste anymore of their time or mine.

The pulled pork was outstanding! Very tender and delicious! The ribs were also very good. The only issue I had was the sauce. Being from GA, I am familiar with the vinegar based sauce that is common in the south. Theirs may look the same, but the taste is vastly different. I personally did *not* like it. It tasted like ashes from the pit made their way into it. Or like someone put too much liquid smoke in it. It was more than just tangy, it was actually acid. And the other option I didn't get past more than a small taste of because it was so dang (spicy) hot, it would've rendered my food inedible... I don't mind some spice, but this was just too much. I would absolutely recommend this place. The peach coobbler is hands down, without a doubt the best I've ever tasted.
