My husband and I ate there 3 weeks ago. It was our first and last time. I ordered soft tacos, my husband ordered crunchy. My tacos had been microwaved so long that the tortilla bonded to the paper. I tried to pull it apart but just ended up having to use a fork to eat it. I thought I had let it cool enough but apparently not. It was so hot it blistered my top and bottom lip and my tongue. I asked the waitress if I was correct in the assumption that my tacos were microwaved. She said yes but it should have been only for a few seconds to melt the cheese. She notified the kitchen about the issue. But I promise you they didn't care. And they aren't authentic tacos. They don't taste bad, but it's the same as if you made them at home. Our waitress was lovely. The only bright spot. I have photos of my lip. Just in case there was an issue. But thankfully after a couple of days it healed.

As a first time customer the experience was great! We got a to-go order and the food was delicious!! Highly recommend the meat nachos and the chicken quesadillas. But the big stand out by far was the staff. I met a guy who had worked there since 1980 and he’s so proud to be on that team! He told us how it got started and made menu recommendations. Super nice man! Highly recommend!!!

Portions are smaller than they use to be, and the prices are ridiculously expensive. Use to love the french fries, but they taste nasty like they are microwaved. Really disappointed

This is a quaint local cafe with a friendly staff. It's not over the top, just a clean and simple eatery that offers great tasting food at affordable prices. I will definitely be back!

Food was fantastic 😍 The attendant was really familiar with the menu very helpful with questions and specials and remembered me from my last visit. I am glad I went every time I go.

I left this 5 star review 4 years ago. At the time I just left a rating with no comment, so I thought I'd elaborate. Since then, I moved my business downtown so I walk here to get lunch to-go regularly. It is very entertaining to read the 1 star reviews. I get it - it's old and not much money has been put into maintaining or upgrading the building. But, at the same time, the prices are amazing. Not many places you get FULL for under $10. As far as taste - this isn't a Mexican restaurant. They call it Tex-Mex, but keep in mind it is one man's idea of Tex-Mex that he started 50 years ago. I ate here in the 1980's - and it's the exact same space but the video game machines that were in the back are gone. Except for adding wings to the menu when the new owner took over years ago, you're able to get the same dishes made the same way as they were from Day 1. Personally, I think the flavors are amazing. I have never gotten sick in any way from eating here (and I've had a good 20+ day run of eating here everyday but Sundays - and only because they are closed Sundays). I've tried almost everything on the menu. They also have the best slaw dog I've had anywhere (steamed bun, beefy hot dog, and fresh made slaw). But if you've never been here before, there will be a learning curve. That's why there is a sticky binder with really old pictures of the dishes. That's why the owner spends at least 3/4 of his day explaining the ingredients in the dishes to newcomers. But give it a few chances, try a few different things over a few visits, and I think you'll find this too is one of your favorite Cartersville originals too.

Been coming here since the 80’s!!!! Such a cool place, familiar faces and great food. We try to come by once a month at least (live out of town) it’s so worth the drive! Try the Sancho Grande, the Piñata, and the Muy Grande Nachos!!!! Those are our personal favorites!

Always delicious and very friendly small town feel! Their nachos and mexicali are a favorite!

Very rude cashier, food took around 30 minutes and when I asked about it, the young lady said
“Are you talking about the one I put in 5 seconds ago?” I responded, no the one that you put in 30 minutes ago.

The food messed up my stomach bad too.

A no-frills, old-school taco and sub joint with big flavors, generous portions, and an atmosphere that’s equal parts nostalgic and welcoming. You can tell it’s family-run by the way they treat everyone like regulars — honestly, it’s the kind of food that makes you stop mid-bite and just nod. Nothing fancy, just really damn good.” Had taco salad double meat!!! My favorite for years.

Been to this longtime Cartersville staple and a review is long overdue. Yes it's a hole in the wall but it's beloved for a reason - you're going for the home-grown, local favorite feel. Huge menu that always hits the spot, and super nice people. Always clean and a great place to eat.
