I was craving some fried grouper, but the place I usually go to stopped selling it and replaced it with an unknown fish. So, I decided to explore restaurants in the Columbus and Midland area that serve fried grouper. During my search, I discovered a restaurant called Country Chick. Always eager to try something new, I traveled about 15 minutes to Cataula and ordered the fried grouper.

After a short wait, my meal was ready, and I have to say it was fresh and delicious! The okra and fried grouper were spot on. Country Chick has definitely earned themselves a regular customer.

This spot right here is a hidden gem in Harris County — just down the road from us at On Par. Whether I’m grabbing their grilled fish sandwich or a loaded Philly, it’s always on point. The fellas I roll with are all hooked too — one’s always after the chicken strips, the other swears by the wings and fried chicken plates. The food’s real, the folks are friendly, and it’s that good Southern comfort kind of spot. If you ain’t tried Country Fish & Chick yet, you’re seriously missing out.

This hole in the wall is the best seafood place I’ve been to. Everything I’ve had in from this place is amazing. It takes a minute to get your food, but it seems that is what it takes to perfect the product. Fair prices, top tier food, generous portions. The place is gaining popularity.

The food is amazing, the waiters are kind, I'm surprised that this place isn't more popular than it is. This place will make sure you walk out with a full stomach. It is a little pricey depending on what you order but it's understandable for a small business. Great food, great service, I hope this place grows!

My husband and I had the grilled grouper on Saturday. The food and the service was excellent! If you want great food this is the place to go. It is not fast food , so it is fresh cooked per order.

First time eating here on Sat 3/8/25. I drove from Columbus to Cataula for Chicken gizzards and Chicken Livers. Absolutely delicious. I can't wait to return for the fish! Yall must this hidden gem!

First time here and we will definitely be coming back ! The catfish was not greasy at all and the Cajun grilled blacked shrimp was perfect! We also tried the hush puppies and fried green tomatoes ! Yum!The dining room was immaculatly clean and the staff was super friendly. You could tell they take pride in their food and service !

Nice folks but wasn’t crazy about the food. The grease needed to be changed. Everything smells and tastes burnt 😕

This is the 4th time we've been. We drive over 100 miles to eat here on days when we can just take a road trip and enjoy the surrounding scenery. The food is always fresh and delicious! I usually get the fried grouper platter and fried green tomatoes. My wife likes the grouper sandwich. The gentleman who runs the place is always kind and helpful. They are very generous with the portions. You will get fed well and also take some home.

Restaurant is clean. Food was great. Staff was great. Will eat here again.

We've found a new place to order fish. Me and my husband have dined numerous times. I love the grilled grouper with the grilled veggies on the side. The fried grouper and whole catfish is fabulous. The last time we went, my older son went with us and purchased the fried grouper. He enjoyed it so much that he went back the next day and got grouper, tilapia, and red snapper. All was good, but the snapper was bit tough and dry. I still would highly recommend them regardless. They also have numerous other items as well! And the service is great!
