Cute, clean, spacious, bright restaurant. Not fancy, yet well appointed for a fast casual style dining experience. No sign upon entry to indicate self seating, or if you should wait to be seated. We found our own seat.
Food was nearly 5 stars. Docked them for no peanuts in my Kung Pao Shrimp, and our Pan Fried Dumplings were deep fried. Flavors were outstanding though! Portions are reasonable, not too big or too small. Even without the peanuts I would absolutely recommend the Kung Pao Shrimp. The shrimp texture was good, entrees were cooked and seasoned perfectly.
Service was minimal, I don't even think our waitress asked if we wanted a beverage, just dropped off a caraffe of water. After our food was delivered there was no check in to see if we needed anything, or to make sure we were happy with our food. We had to ask for the check after sitting for a while with empty plates. It was not busy, the staff were at the front counter quite a bit engaging with each other and not the guests. For context I have waited tables and worked FOH, so I'm not just being picky. Having said that, I 100% would go back and honestly, I'm glad this restaurant doesn't exist in our town or I'd be there all the time to order food to go. In fact, I want to go back for lunch tomorrow before we head back to SC. Definitely recommend giving them a try.

This is now my most favorite vegan restaurant in Atlanta. Great customer service and love the decor.
I've been to Malaysia several times and have always enjoy the amazing flavors of Kuala Lumpur and Mamak Vegan Kitchen has imported the wonderful profile of flavors to Atlanta.
The food was absolutely delicious. I can't wait to get back their to order other items from the menu.
I had the Tofu Sambar with Satay Sauce and the Curry Laksa. I really enjoyed the Curry Laksa. It had the right amount of seasonings and spices. It also reminded me of Khao Soy from Northern Thailand.

I was recently visiting Atlanta on a solo trip and was excited to see that there was an all vegan Malaysian restaurant, as I'd really enjoyed Malaysian-Thai fusion food when I went to Thailand. I took the train from Midtown to Chamblee and then walked almost a mile each way to and from the restaurant, which is in a strip mall. It was pretty tasty. I had the butterfly pea tea (make sure to squeeze lemon in it to make it change from blue to purple!), chick’n satay, and Chow Kway Teow. The chik'n satay was average. The noodles/ tofu dish was a bit peppery for my tastes, so I ordered a side of peanut sauce to put on top. Very ample portions! I would eat here again and try different menu items.

I love the food at Mamak. But only food. Second time happened to us- we close at 9pm. Ok. Last order - 830pm. Ok. A party of 5. We order by 830pm, food arrives by 840-845pm (about 8 dishes), and they are at our table at 8.55pm- we are closing. Pay first. Leaving our food- we all oblige. They start clearing our table without asking!!!! And I ask- can we finish our food? The Answer of the server- NO!!! We close at 9pm!!
In this case- the last order should be at 8pm and has to be clearly mentioned on their website and Google!!
How am I expected to finish my dinner in 15-20 minutes at a sit-down restaurant? And this has happened twice now! Such a let down, disgraceful experience! What u see in the pictures was the leftover food packed in boxes

The food was amazing and the menu had so many options to choose from. We wish we could've gotten it all. We loved the flat noodles and the fried rice was awesome too. The tofu was cooked perfectly and I loved all the fake meat options. Definitely got quite a few things that we cannot get in our home town. Would come back all the time if I lived in the area.

I’ve been coming here for many years, and it never disappoints. My favorite appetizers are the curry pies and yuka fries — so flavorful and perfectly crispy. For mains, we always go for the Singapore rice noodles and pineapple or olive fried rice — both are incredibly delicious and consistently fresh. If you’re craving authentic Malaysian flavors made fully vegan, this is the place to be! Updated from previous review on 2025-10-22
