Still shocked at how disappointing this experience was. The food was mid and bland - everything tasted like it was full of salt or just plain nothing. My lips were chapped for the next 24 hours and mouth left with foul taste due to the saltiness. All the food had a look and taste as if it had already been cooked and just got reheated to be served to us. Can’t believe what they charge for entrees of this degree of mediocrity. The service was friendly but pretty disinterested and careless. Had a couple of friends in town from out west and so disappointed that this is the restaurant we ended up at.

We have eaten at Southbound several times previously but this past weekend we had an opportunity to host a wedding rehearsal dinner and then a “welcome party” upstairs. We could not have been any happier with the food as it was amazing but the staff at this restaurant is beyond amazing! It all starts with Amanda but the GM Caleb is the best, professional and made us feel so welcome! The servers and bartenders just did a fabulous job!

Great food and service. Loved the pimento cheese, shrimp and grits, chicken fried chicken, fish tacos, etc. Everything was tasty!

The shrimp and grits were outstanding, and the coffee was excellent. The vegetable platter was good. However, the cornbread was over baked, and the replacement piece wasn’t much better. This was disappointing because we were looking forward to the cornbread.

I love the atmosphere especially when it’s golden hour!
Food was great. The octopus plate I order was a small portion but it was good :)

Very cool architectural vibe.
Nice side room so our neurodivergent fam could converse easily & hear well. Server was cool, and knowledgeable 👌. We have one family member who has some very specific food allergies, and the server was helpful, even mentioned that the restaurant owner's spouse had celiac as well. The appetizer we ordered was the pimento cheese dip & corn tortilla chips. It was... ok. It could've been better, spicier, creamier. A little more 'zhuzhing up'. It was too much like something I could've easily made at home in toaster oven, and I'm not much of a cook, lol!
The drinks were good, but just WAAY too small for the price. 🙄 and my son found an IKEA label on his glass, which he found intriguing. 🤷‍♀️ my fish tacos were good, at least. Thank God they were made from snapper and not tilapia 🙂‍↔️!
I think everyone in our party was basically satisfied with their food in general. And it was VERY cool to see the trains coming & going outside the big windows, so that's a plus. (Young ones may find this very entertaining & educational!)
I'm just not sure how strongly I could recommend, and not sure if I would 10/10 🤔 for sure come back again. So, not *bad*, but not 'wow that was great* either.

Have been here twice. Hard to go wrong with the meat and 2. Fried Brussels are terrific. I like the buffalo cauliflower for the first few bites but then something about it is less appealing. I have a pet peeve that menu prices need to be correct so didn’t love getting charged $25 for the meat and 2 when menu price was $24.

Chef Fredi is the most talented and KIND person. He checks on his customers experience constantly. The bar is also very talented, welcoming, and VERY well priced. For atlanta area, everything is priced fairly and I never feel rushed.
