Absolutely disappointed in the staff at this location.

My husband and I have enjoyed this restaurant chain for years, but after last night, I don’t know if we’ll be returning. I recently broke my leg and am on crutches with an aircast. My husband arrived about 10 minutes before me to buy a drink and waters so he could secure a table for us, saving me from having to stand in line.

After I arrived and sat down, my husband promptly joined the food line. Within minutes, one of their team members came over and told me I needed to get up from my table and sit on a bench until my husband had ordered our food—because of their “system.”

I’m very familiar with how their restaurant works, and that’s exactly why my husband purchased beverages before ordering—so we could get a table. I politely explained that my leg was broken and my husband was already in line, assuming she hadn’t noticed the boot on my leg, my bright pink crutches leaning against the wall, or the drinks on the table we had already purchased.

Instead of showing understanding, she repeated herself and again told me to move to a bench. At that moment, my crutches were out of reach, I had my crossbody purse, two waters, and my husband’s Ranch Water on the table. Even if I could grab my crutches, I couldn’t have carried everything by myself. My husband was now third in line.

She walked away, and suddenly, multiple tables around me were cleared—five in total. I’m not sure if it was coincidence or if other guests overheard the conversation. She then returned to tell me it “wasn’t a big deal” anymore because more tables had opened up.

I have NEVER been treated this way in my life. This experience was humiliating, and it showed a complete lack of empathy or basic ADA awareness. I would hate to think how they would treat someone with a permanent disability. This company seriously needs to invest in ADA and coustomer service training for its staff.

Staff needs ADA training. Went a few weeks ago and they were so rude about my service animal being on the patio with inappropriate posturing and questioning by multiple employees. It felt to both me and my companions like the manager was intentionally trying to make me uncomfortable. He was somehow both insecure, awkward and agressive at the same time, which is quite a feat. He had the nerve to ask me why my dog’s harness didn’t say service dog. Sorry- if I’d known your employees were such losers I would have brought her other harness that anyone can buy on Amazon. I stayed calm and collected and offered to show them her ID# even though I don’t have to. I’ll do you a favor- the only thing your manager should be asking anyone unless you want to get sued is what service the dog provides. My dog is for my epilepsy so I would have told you that. You’re welcome. The food was also incredibly mediocre. I won’t be returning.

Some really solid tacos that aren’t crazy expensive. Love their fried chicken tacos. It can get really busy during some hours, with lines going out the door, but still a great spot.

Most reasonably priced tacos in the area in my opinion. Most are about $4, so you can eat here for like $15 or less. Love the fried chicken and Memphis tacos. The trio is always a must. Their cheese dip is so good. It’s thinner and a tiny bit spicy. Their chips are thin and crispy too. The employees are really nice and food comes out fast. House marg and frozen margs are both yummy. Beware of a reallyyyy long line on nice nights. We try to get there before 6 to try to avoid the long line.

Parking: Free parking lot but spots are tight and it fills up quick, even though there’s a lot of spots

If I could give this place negative stars, I would. We walked in, my mom placed her order, and I brought other food in because I am expecting and am specific about what I can and cannot eat. Almost immediately after my mom payed, this man approached us and said to me “what’s wrong with our food” in an extremely rude tone. Robert (so he told us), was so unbelievably rude and unprofessional. He had frizzy hair. He called my mom clueless and we asked what his name was, and he said Robert and to make sure we “spellchecked it” (obviously being rude and sarcastic). He also said he was the manager when we asked. If you do not allow outside food, you should approach the person kindly, which was the opposite of what he did. Robert was anything but kind, and had a disgusting attitude and was the worst worker/ manager we have ever come across. This whole chain has lost customers because of ROBERT. We will tell every person we know not to ever come to this restaurant. Do better.

Always a big line out the door. Luckily there was none when we went. Order at the counter and food comes out extremely fast. The salsa and queso were great but the food overall lacks any flavor or seasoning to me. I got the brisket and pork enchiladas and the meat was dry as a bone. It has potential but I probably wouldn’t go again for the entrees.

I’m here to tell y’all, this Taqueria has the best collards in the South. I originally came here a few years ago, bc I was inspired by the cookbook. I met one of the business partners last time in Atlanta . This time, I had to come back to give a review. The tacos are mostly 8.5, only y’all know that cost/protein ratio is a tad higher. But they’re excellent, you could eat 27 of them. But they’re collards man, as a black guy this is where I’m coming to get some for thanksgiving.

I’ve been eating at this restaurant for years and have always loved the food, but unfortunately, my recent experience at the Brookhaven location was incredibly disappointing. When we arrived, there was a huge mob of people right at the entry, and we couldn’t even get in the door. I had my baby in a stroller, and with no designated area to stand in line with a stroller, I tried to sit at an open table, as there were plenty of empty seats. To my surprise, I was told I needed to move, even though my husband was still waiting in line. It was especially frustrating because there was no consideration for my baby, and honestly, how they have people enter feels like a fire hazard. It wasn’t like I was occupying space that could’ve been used by another customer — there were plenty of open tables. The lack of understanding and basic accommodation for families with young children was incredibly disappointing, and I won’t be returning to this location.

I find it ridiculous that a restaurant who receives SO much business from families refuses to invest in high chairs to make it a better experience for everyone involved. Instead you have bulky strollers and toddlers running around. Then you have the non moving line that is out the door in the cold as night is approaching. Definitely some kinks in customer experience that this place needs to work on!

Ever since Takorea closed, I've been coming to Taqueria del Sol for lunch about every week. I've been coming to Taqueria del Sol for 20 years, going back to the original location on Howell Mill. What a spot, never disappoints. The shrimp corn chowder is the best in Atlanta. The tacos are incredible. Great staff, always friendly and helpful. Quick, tasty, and affordable food. What else could you ask for?
