Tequera Del Sol in Chamblee has some of the most outrageous, unfriendly policies I’ve ever experienced, made even worse by an incredibly rude and aggressive manager.

From the moment we arrived, it was clear this place has a strict “do as you’re told” attitude with zero concern for customer service or basic decency. The first major red flag was witnessing elderly women being yelled at for trying to sit down while the rest of their group waited in line for a table. One of the women had recently had hip surgery and was still forced to stand. Watching that happen was shocking and completely unacceptable.

It didn’t get better. I waited over 10 minutes trying to get the bartender’s attention for a drink. After not being checked on for at least 15 minutes, I was abruptly told that no more orders could be taken after 2:00 PM. It was 2:01 PM. At no point was this policy communicated, and there was no effort to accommodate or even acknowledge the delay caused by their own staff.

If you’re unaware, this place operates under rigid, customer-unfriendly rules with no flexibility, no warmth, and no care for the customer’s happiness or well-being. The manager’s attitude alone is enough to make you never want to return.

The food was cheap and just okay—but absolutely not worth the experience. After seeing firsthand how poorly customers are treated, especially elderly patrons, I would only recommend this place if you are desperate and willing to be treated poorly.

Be aware before you go.

This was one of my grandfathers favorite restaurants — every time there was something special going on, he wanted Taqueria. The last time we tried to take him, he couldn’t stand on his own for more than a moment. Of course, you must order before being seated, but we assumed exceptions could be made for accessibility. When he tried to sit down near the entrance, we were told he would have to stand (the line was quite long to order). Maybe that’s on us, but seriously, aren’t there laws about that kind of stuff? This happened a while ago, and hopefully things are different now, but still, I think a chair could’ve been spared.

Absolutely disappointed in the staff at this location.

My husband and I have enjoyed this restaurant chain for years, but after last night, I don’t know if we’ll be returning. I recently broke my leg and am on crutches with an aircast. My husband arrived about 10 minutes before me to buy a drink and waters so he could secure a table for us, saving me from having to stand in line.

After I arrived and sat down, my husband promptly joined the food line. Within minutes, one of their team members came over and told me I needed to get up from my table and sit on a bench until my husband had ordered our food—because of their “system.”

I’m very familiar with how their restaurant works, and that’s exactly why my husband purchased beverages before ordering—so we could get a table. I politely explained that my leg was broken and my husband was already in line, assuming she hadn’t noticed the boot on my leg, my bright pink crutches leaning against the wall, or the drinks on the table we had already purchased.

Instead of showing understanding, she repeated herself and again told me to move to a bench. At that moment, my crutches were out of reach, I had my crossbody purse, two waters, and my husband’s Ranch Water on the table. Even if I could grab my crutches, I couldn’t have carried everything by myself. My husband was now third in line.

She walked away, and suddenly, multiple tables around me were cleared—five in total. I’m not sure if it was coincidence or if other guests overheard the conversation. She then returned to tell me it “wasn’t a big deal” anymore because more tables had opened up.

I have NEVER been treated this way in my life. This experience was humiliating, and it showed a complete lack of empathy or basic ADA awareness. I would hate to think how they would treat someone with a permanent disability. This company seriously needs to invest in ADA and coustomer service training for its staff.

Staff needs ADA training. Went a few weeks ago and they were so rude about my service animal being on the patio with inappropriate posturing and questioning by multiple employees. It felt to both me and my companions like the manager was intentionally trying to make me uncomfortable. He was somehow both insecure, awkward and agressive at the same time, which is quite a feat. He had the nerve to ask me why my dog’s harness didn’t say service dog. Sorry- if I’d known your employees were such losers I would have brought her other harness that anyone can buy on Amazon. I stayed calm and collected and offered to show them her ID# even though I don’t have to. I’ll do you a favor- the only thing your manager should be asking anyone unless you want to get sued is what service the dog provides. My dog is for my epilepsy so I would have told you that. You’re welcome. The food was also incredibly mediocre. I won’t be returning.

Some really solid tacos that aren’t crazy expensive. Love their fried chicken tacos. It can get really busy during some hours, with lines going out the door, but still a great spot.

Most reasonably priced tacos in the area in my opinion. Most are about $4, so you can eat here for like $15 or less. Love the fried chicken and Memphis tacos. The trio is always a must. Their cheese dip is so good. It’s thinner and a tiny bit spicy. Their chips are thin and crispy too. The employees are really nice and food comes out fast. House marg and frozen margs are both yummy. Beware of a reallyyyy long line on nice nights. We try to get there before 6 to try to avoid the long line.

Parking: Free parking lot but spots are tight and it fills up quick, even though there’s a lot of spots

If I could give this place negative stars, I would. We walked in, my mom placed her order, and I brought other food in because I am expecting and am specific about what I can and cannot eat. Almost immediately after my mom payed, this man approached us and said to me “what’s wrong with our food” in an extremely rude tone. Robert (so he told us), was so unbelievably rude and unprofessional. He had frizzy hair. He called my mom clueless and we asked what his name was, and he said Robert and to make sure we “spellchecked it” (obviously being rude and sarcastic). He also said he was the manager when we asked. If you do not allow outside food, you should approach the person kindly, which was the opposite of what he did. Robert was anything but kind, and had a disgusting attitude and was the worst worker/ manager we have ever come across. This whole chain has lost customers because of ROBERT. We will tell every person we know not to ever come to this restaurant. Do better.
