re heated, a bit greasy and maybe a bit burnt grease tasting to me anyways. Kim thought they were good. We ordered the Molcajete which is an outstanding yummy dish in Mexico. This was less than outstanding I’ll start with the positive… Really awesome Jalapeño Margarita! Way too much ice but very tasty. We ordered the Molcajete which is an outstanding yummy dish in Mexico. This was less than outstanding especially for $25! Barely anything in it, leather sole steak and chicken, dry spicy sausage, no juicy sauce with scrumptious melted cheese full of juicy steak, chickens , shrimp, spicy sausage, full cactus leaves just bubbling with everything nice. News flash, your not in Mexico, or even anywhere near the boarder with this dish. HARD PASS! Not worth another visit, ok maybe for another Jalapeño Margarita, hold the ice on the side! I was disappointed, was supposed to be a Birthday celebration weekend for me, I could have made a better Mexican dish at hime and an awesome jalapeño Margarita, shame on these businesses for not providing the best ethnic foods the can serve especially where the staff seemed to be Mexican! We loved this place when it was Clark's and we love it as Laguna. We spent a beautiful, breezy day on the roof top. Great food and great music.I opted for the Huaraches and my wife had Street Taco's.Be sure to ask for their hot sauce. It is absolutely amazing! The service was great. A rare thing these days. The food was delicious. We're not often in Clayton but we'll be back to Laguna's!
Beautiful view upstairs but no fans or anything to help with bugs (sweat bees everywhere), that would have been bearable if the food was good. It was bland, needed salt and flavoring. For $65 for lunch I want to enjoy it. I wouldn't recommend. It's a location with great potential but changes need to be made.
Great experience and beautiful rooftop bar view!!!!! Amazing food and great wait staff!!!! Have awesome music
Great food, cold beer, wonderful rooftop seating and friendly service. We'll be back!
We recently moved to Clayton and have been surprised with the number of Mexican restaurants in the area. We lived in Dallas, TX 10+ years so we really enjoy great Mexican and Tex-Mex. The weather was nice today so we decided to finally try Laguna’s rooftop, opting for Thursday night dining as opposed to a busy weekend crowd. The atmosphere is definitely nice but the service and food were very disappointing. Our waiter did the bare minimum in taking our order although there were only 2- 3 tables to serve at that time. A kitchen server brought our food and our waiter never came by to check on us to see if we got what we ordered, needed any drink refills, etc. He was at the bar eating his dinner. In regards to the drinks and food, the salsa was watered down, the margarita was tasteless, and even the cheese dip tasted watered down. How can you mess up cheese dip?? We ordered Texas fajitas to share and they were decent but definitely not as tasty as most fajitas we’ve had in town. The refried beans were also very bland. I was beginning to think something was wrong with my tastebuds; however, I did happen to notice that another couple had left almost their entire dinner and drinks untouched also. We had to stand up in order to get the server’s attention so we could get our check. Overall, a very tasteless, disappointing experience. First time I’ve never been able to finish a margarita. I would recommend any other Mexican restaurant in town. It’s not worth it just for a nice view.
Awesome staff and great food. My wife and I love it! You have to check it out. Not sure why there are some bad reviews here but ours has always been great when we go or take out. On top of that it smells really nice inside!
Hubby, son and I arrived around 2pm today (Wednesday) for a late lunch/early dinner. We were greeted with pleasant, smiling faces and asked if we'd like a seat downstairs or on the rooftop. We chose the roof since we had seen it when visiting last week (we live close) and were directed to the stairwell. We made our way up and was greeted by our waiter, another happy face. We sat down and ordered drinks and cheese dip. The chips were still warm when he brought them out and were salted just right. The salsa was chilled and had a good flavor. The cheese dip came out soon after and it was delicious. I had the super burrito (ground beef) and it was fantastic! I took over half of it home. Son had the super burrito as well but with chicken ... he said it was yummy. Hubby said the Texas fajitas was tasty. It came out steaming and sizzling on the pan. Service was really good and the price for us all was comparable to other sitdown restaurants. We will be back again for sure!
The food was delicious! I got the chicken burrito and when they told me that it was huge, it did not disappoint! I'm very glad I went there and experienced such a great dine with my friends.
Our family has had dinner here a few times. I went yesterday and ordered my daughter a bean burrito. I was charged $9.99 for their huge steak burrito, minus all ingredients other than bean and cheese. I addressed the problem with management and he said they don’t have one on the menu so that’s what he hast to do. Fair enough, there’s plenty of places to eat in this town. They also charge a “service fee.”

I had chicken tamales and my husband had the chicken soup. Both were wonderful!! Not too Spicy but plenty of Spicy salsa available as needed.
After reading the reviews, we were unsure but decided we wanted to check out the roof top. What a wonderful experience. BEAUTIFUL views, GREAT food, GREAT waiter. We will definitely be back. Don’t miss out! This is the place to have Mexican in Clayton!
I've eaten at hundreds of Mexican places around this great nation of ours. I seldom leave a review unless a restaurant is really good or really bad. Laguna's is really bad. Overall, it is the absolute worst Mexican restaurant that I have ever eaten from. The negative vibe began as we walked through the door, as the building is small and relative dark. There are no table options that are not directly in front of the bar. We ordered a large queso dip to start off. After ordering, we received our drinks quickly but the cheese dip never arrived untill less than two minutes before our food arrived. Don't expect good chips here, as the basket we were given was bland and stale. The cheese dip had zero flavor, and more or less tasted like warm thick water. My fajita's arrived at a lukewarm temperature (I've never had that happen before). That's really all I feel like typing here but everything was bad except the sweet tea. Sad, as everything else in Clayton in a Monday evening at 6:00 PM was closed. This was literally our only option downtown.
The atmosphere is what you come for here....that roof top view though!! The food is your typical Mexican food. The customer service leaves much to be desired.
Fantastic staff and delicious food!! We will definitely be back! We had a vegetarian taco salad & fish tacos & it was so good!
