So glad I stopped in during my visit to Columbus! I tried the “Matt’s Beard” latte which had orange and vanilla and it was amazing. Sadly they were out of eggs (I came by on a busy Saturday morning so it happens!), but I did have a classic everything bagel and it was a great bagel. I am assuming they source their baked goods from a local bakery because it definitely tasted like a fresh bagel and not store bought. Would definitely drop in again if I was in the area!
Dietary restrictions: Offered macadamia and oat milk alternatives. No alternative cheese or cream cheese options for dairy free. No egg or meat alternatives.

Great local coffee spot, the storefront may look small but there are a lot of tables inside along with a couch at the very end. They roast their own beans, and drinks are served in paper cups. The espresso, cortado and latte we got were good, asked the barista about the beans they used and he said they use the House Blend. Ended up getting a bag of those beans to try at home, they’re pretty oily but pretty good.

Yum… my guilty pleasure is the s’mores latte. I have to reduce the expresó shots and upgrade with oat milk (until coconut milk come into play). There are a variety of latte’s mixtures and you can request your own mix. I’m giving four stars because they need more variety and a spruce on the atmosphere ( book mailbox, more couches, air purifiers, more merch…).
Vegetarian options: There are items that make a great quick vegetarian breakfast or late late breakfast or breakfast all day meal.
Dietary restrictions: The menu gives you options that will help to fit your dietary needs.

This place used to be my spot but then I went in to order my smoothie and use the restroom. The guy announced, "is that the last person in the bathroom?" And I told him I needed to go to which he slowly closed his eyes and motioned for me to go. I wasn't in the bathroom for even thirty seconds and I even ordered a smoothie. I, or anyone, should not be made to feel that they are a nuisance for using the restroom. He made it clear that I annoyed him and that he was ready to go and I was holding him up. I won't go back. Iron bank will now hold my business.
Update: it’s 2024 and I still haven’t went back.

This is the best coffee Columbus has to offer. The atmosphere is cozy, but there is a good assortment of seating for various needs. I've been several times and have only had one beverage taste less than perfect so far.

First time. Ordered the Bananas Foster Iced and it is delicious. The reception was warm and friendly, menu was explained and the ambience is beautiful. Highly recommended.

I normally go to another coffee spot when I'm visiting. But wanted to try this place. Very nice atmosphere and the coffee was great! Not very inviting though, the young lady that took my order wasn't a people person. Didn't know the history of the drawings on the wall. Would have loved to know the history behind this establishment.

Great place to get locally roasted coffee and some nice sandwiches. They have a great variety of coffee beans to suit different tastes and brewing techniques at home, too.
Vegetarian options: I didn't notice vegan dishes, but there are great meat-free sandwich options.
Parking: Usually nearby spots available, and the area is extremely walkable.

As a barista and former coffee shop manager, I’m SUPER picky about where I get my coffee from, but Fountain City Coffee checks ALL the boxes!! Great atmosphere and the staff were super friendly! I had a lovely conversation with Jud and he gave me some great recommendations. I got an almond joy latte with extra espresso and it was AMAZING. Very high quality and you could tell a lot of care was put into this drink. I’ve tried maybe 50 different coffee shops in the last couple months, and I think this had the best coffee out of all of them. I’m not from the Columbus area but Fountain City would definitely be my go-to place if I was! Cannot recommend enough.
