Great American Cookies

I had 2 birthdays in the month of October back to back, and Great American cookie came through all the way!! The entire staff is friendly, the owners make you feel at home whenever you walk in, they brought my ideas for the cakes to life and I couldn’t be more appreciative of them! Asked them to cook one of the cakes just a little longer because my mother is extremely picky, and they did their best to accommodate me and even remembered the next time I came In to ask how the cookie was being cooked just a little longer, definitely give them a shot! My mother loved the cake and was so happy!

Worst experience ever!!!! I had went to Great Americans on whittlesey in Columbus, Ga on Friday, October 4, 2024 in the evening time to order a customize cookie for my boyfriend birthday. It was last minute very understandable but the service was really bad today for some reason. I have ordered customize cakes from them in the past but I never been to this location at all before. For this to be my first time will be my last time because the customer service was terrible, nobody acknowledge whatsoever, everybody pretty much ignored me until I said something, and then when I asked to see if I get a customized cake made it was very unsure and hesitate at first and was told it will take 2 hours and was already $30. I was very understanding that was not the issue. When it was time to pickup the cake I was once again not acknowledged after standing for a couple of minutes to see if anybody was going to help me. I ended up trying to talk to somebody and when I was shown my cake it looked very tacky had all the writing done correctly the icing around the happy of the beginning part was messed up. Like for somebody you could’ve done better like I paid my money I would like to get my money worth. I told one of the associates that I wasn’t pleased with the cake and she was very annoyed judging by her facial expressions. She didn’t seem like she cared and more like she didn’t dare to help me. She was like what do you want me to do because we did it on the whelm. Nobody here can do it professionally at the moment and she messed up and tried redo it but we can’t do it back over. It’s already late so what you would like for us to do about it. I was so annoyed because they was willing to take my money but did poorly at the detailing and the professionalism of presenting it. I’m not pleased and never coming back again ever to this location. I politely don’t want no part here and let it be known to them I don’t want to come back again because I don’t want no refund I just don’t want to come here no more!!!!

Upon arrival I was greeted with the friendliest customer service I would have to say probably ever in my life. Unfortunately, I didn’t get this gentleman’s name behind the counter, but he was so kind.

Waited to get kids cookies after we ate. Not once was I greeted. Two customers after me were helped. I finally left.

This place is awful. Paid $50 for a cookie cake for my son’s birthday. Ordered online and TYPED what was supposed to be written which was pretty simple. They misspelled his name. SCRAPED IT and tried to rewrite it! The manager would not issue a refund and the cake looks awful! I will never be back here!

Unfortunately I am leaving an awful review for this company & management. I have ordered plenty of cookie cakes from this location and have never had an issue. The balloon cake (as pictured) was purchased less than a month ago for a friends birthday. I had another friends birthday this month and ordered the same cake, but bigger. The second picture is the cake I received. No balloons, and appears as though a 5 year old wrote on it. I was extremely disappointed especially considering I spent $20 more on the bigger cake. I spoke with the manager who explained to me that if I wanted to decorate the cake myself, I could do so. He also wanted me to bring the cake back to the store. They refused to compensate me with anything at all. I was very displeased. The manager also told me to come into the store versus ordering online so that I could specify that I wanted a “top notch decorator”. Not helpful at all. Beware- you’ll spend $60 on a cookie cake to feed 25 people for your best friends birthday, and end up with a childish looking cake. Hate to write such a bad review, but it’s honest.

Tried to order something simple online. We were told that they could just put white icing on a cookie. Like tons of other stores have done in the past. Then part of the order was wrong. Sugar cookies instead of chocolate chip. Then we asked if the could at least sell us a small cup of white icing, nope because it's not an option on the register. This is an extremely badly managed and operated place.Edit in order to respond. 1st of all you have not processed the refund yet and that better occur in the morning. We would have paid extra for the adjustment and simply saying you don't do that because it's not advertised is just NOT good customer service. In fact your response to this review just proves to the public that you don't have good customer service. Plus it was requested that the 2 slices ordered be chocolate chip cookies and you did not comply with that request.

One of the best spots for ice cream in town. Excellent customer service. Nice and clean store. Reasonable price. Will come back.
