McAlister's is normally a favorite of mine. Today, however, I had a disappointing experience. I went in and the line was long so I decided to put in a to go order online. I completed my order at 1:21 pm and I was told that my order would be ready at 1:41 pm. At 1:41 pm and asked for an update and the guy up front told me that my order was on the screen and would be ready in a minute. My girlfriend and I waited an additional 15 minutes in the lobby as we watched the people in the back making in the food live their best lives preparing the food slowly. One of the girls (partially dyed hair) had on gloves and then answered her phone with those same gloves and proceeded to hang up the phone and continue to prepare food with those same gloves. A couple of people who were waiting on their food for a long time just like us asked for an update on their food and whenever the front counter staff asked that same girl where the food was, she seemed to lack concern for the status of their order and continued to move at a snail's pace. The rest of the staff was pretty nice but the girl in the back displayed a mediocre work ethic. She was beyond the weakest link of the entire crew. I believe they were short staffed today but put the final nail in the coffin of a bad experience. The ambiance was normal. I ordered a bowl of Chilli and it tasted like canned Hormel. I don't know who can eat an entire bowl of that. My gf ordered the Chicken and Dumplings and it was thick and overcooked and barely had any chicken. It looked like cat food. I didn't even want a bite. Lol. And the pickle that came with the King Club had a nasty flavor. Tasted like it had been marinating in a mason jar with vinegar and an old church shoe.

I tried the club wrap for the first time and I was highly disappointed. The wrap was so hard I couldn’t even bite it and it looked nothing like the picture on the menu. Certainly not worth the price.

Took my sister for her first visit ever, and my first to the Columbus location- and first in several years. Our cashier (tall with dreadlocks) was so kind and pleasant and helpful- we both ordered a veggie spud and I had the chicken avocado salad and that is the best salad I’ve ever had in my life!! I will be craving it all the time so I’ll be back!!

A picture would tell you everything you need to know about this food. I intended to give you guys just that, but when I got my Italian sub sandwich I couldn't resist the smells, presentations, and the cucumbers and tomatoes side that accompany my meal. Yes it was that d@$n good. I destroyed it all in 4 minutes. McAlister's deli please don't change a thing!!! Well maybe upgrade to a full sub instead of the half.. lol

BEWARE - We have always liked eating here, but last night we witnessed the employees scamming us. The employee behind the cash register advised me of our order total and I tried to swipe my card. The employee then advised that their credit card machine was messed up and she reached over the counter and pushed a button on the credit card machine to "allow" me to enter my card manually. Once I entered the information, the button that SHE pushed on the machine charged an extra $3.80 to my total, which was not communicated with me. When my husband noticed the charge on the receipt and went back up to confront them. They told us they cannot remove the charge and gave us a $1.99 cookie. This is dishonest and fraudulent. If you go to this location, be sure to check your receipts closely!

Restaurant was not that busy when we were there. Tables were a mess. They were out of basic things like cheese. Soups were served to us cold. This place seems to be run by kids. This was my first time going there and will probably be my last.

**GO SOMEWHERE ELSE**By far the absolute worst service I have ever had at a McAlisters. Every time I forget how bad it actually was and I go back, just to be reminded how little any of the employees or management care. I can say that this one location has made me never want to go back to any McAlisters ever again, and I have viewed McAlisters as one of my favorite places to eat for 10 years. This location needs to seriously reconsider the managers they have, as I cannot wrap my head around how they continue to keep these types of employees.

We were in Columbus Georgia. We were looking for a place to have lunch. I am so glad that we chose it, the food and service was excellent. If we are ever there again, you can be sure that we will eat there again.
