Mikatas in columbus is usually SO good that we drive from Auburn to eat there. We eat here usually twice a month and get a shrimp chicken and steak for 2. it’s plenty enough to feed us plus the toddlers. Sadly the last two times we came it’s been so salty i can barely eat it at all and especially not the kids. So upset about it because we probably won’t make the drive again after this.

Good decent place. Good is good, not the best tasting or most authentic but it's good. Would recommend anyone who likes Americanized Japanese food to try. There are some authentic items on the menu so overall I would rate 8/10 for here in Columbus.

Our waitress was super sorry and had a bad attitude. We came for a birthday dinner and every guest noticed her bad attitude. Prices are outrageous drinks are watered downs. I had 2 shots and 3 Long Islands and left as sober as I was when I came out the wound. Would NOT recommend!

Nice to have our cook mention that we would be expelling gas while cooking our, have to pay extra for, vegetables - which were less than 1/2 cup cooked for each diner. Also, while we ate our food we got to watch another employee scrape down the grill, our entire meal. We finished our dinners as he was rolling his cleanup cart away.
Menu should say rice with little meat and vegetables. Not worth the $209 we paid.
So disappointed, look so forward to a nice dinner. Will not be back.

Great customer service and the sushi was very good. Lots of options/variations. Hibachi is the main type of seating, no separate tables for just sushi. They were kind and allowed us to sit at an hibachi table with our group to have just sushi.

The only complaint I have is, the air conditioning might be working the best. It was hot in there even before they started cooking.

your hostess, the young blond girl, needs to find a different job. tried to seat my party of 4 in a space that could barely fit 3, and got rude and pissy when we told the waitress that we wanted to be sat elsewhere. thankfully, the waitress, for the life of me cannot remember her name, was super duper sweet and let your snotty hostess know real quick that, that seating arrangement was not going to work. because if someone’s paying $150 to eat, they shouldn’t have to sit on top of complete strangers to do so. we had also put our orders in and about 15 ish minutes later, your hostess tried to sit more people in our section and would have made us wait longer. thankfully yet again, our wonderful waitress stood up for us and let them know real quick that the chef was coming out in 5 minutes because we already had to wait because of your hostess, who stood there and very rudely tried to argue with the waitress and huffed and puffed like a spoiled child not getting her way. our waitress was so lovely and very attentive, as was the chef! the food was awesome! would have been absolutely perfect had it not been for your hostess

Great hibachi. Been here many times over the years and enjoy it every time. Kid loves the salmon and lobster hibachi. Hibachi chefs are always fun and engaging. Our most recent visit we sat at the sushi bar and just ate sushi. Everything was fresh, quick, and delicious. The sushi chef was accommodating and created wonderful rolls. Staff is always pleasant and very much like family.

Mikata's is our number 1 got celebration spot for our family when it comes to holidays, birthdays and award ceremonies celebrations. The amount of food you get for the price is great and it's always cooked fresh.

The food was great, but the hibachi chef was not so great. He intentionally tried to make a kid at our table cry, and didn’t seem to get any of the orders right, and made fun of us for not correcting him
Kid-friendliness: Not kid friendly at all at least for the experience we had

One of the servers was rude and looked bothered when my husband asked for a different high chair because the one we received had what looked like baby's throw-up, they took forever to bring the drinks and never asked if we wanted a refill. The seafood volcano was not worth the price, but the hibachi was pretty good.
