Nice enough staff. Very VERY expensive and the coffee was pretty atrocious. Somehow both murky and weak.

I feel like Bear Necessities Cafe is a little bit of a hidden gem in Dahlonega. Cool, laid-back vibe with pretty good coffee (they serve Break Coffee Roasters out of Duluth) and plenty of pastry options to choose from, which is awesome. Seasonal drinks are always fun, and the staff couldn’t be nicer. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in town.

We were there twice over Labor Day weekend. They were so kind and friendly! It was clearly busy but they handled it with a smile and everything came out hot and delicious!

Great shop atmosphere and staff. Unfortunately, they’re simply taking regular grocery store ingredients and reselling at a ridiculously high price.
Absolutely no food creativity, and no option for anything other than light roast coffee, which is disappointing.

A fun atmosphere, good food, and great presentation. My wife and teenage daughters absolutely loved it!

Normally I'd start with the delicious roast beef sandwich or the tuna salad my wife had with a huge portion of mozzarella but I won't. I won't even start with how cute the surroundings are or that our server was delightful. No, let me begin with the brownie. Now, I know brownies. I've had brownies all over where we've lived and my wife makes a mean brownie herself. This was on the far side of decadent. Smooth chocolate with little chocolate chunks. To die for.
I'm sure the rest of the menu is equally impressive. Stop by and help this home grown company thrive.
Side note. The owner came out while we were sitting on the porch. She certainly deserves your support. She took the time to connect in a very meaningful way and we are grateful for those moments.
All the best,
Dan

1 piece of toast with a few slices of avocado, sour jam and a blob of partially melted cheese for $16.99!!! They forgot my cappuccino. My niece got a bagel sandwich and water. Our breakfast cost was $45.00! Very, very disappointed. Never again! Tracy S

The most over rated food I have had in a very long time. Totally devoid of flavor, except the slightly burned taste from being left in the pan too long. How can you remove the flavor so completely from simple breakfast foods? I had the Bear Style Frittata and my friend had the Bear-Rito. Both were sooo lacking in flavor. We all have bad days. This was theirs.

Cute restaurant and friendly staff but food is expensive for what you get. Bagel was microwaved, and the pastry that looked good was rubbery and had no taste. Disappointed in food.

We went in really wanting to like this place as we saw the great reviews. But we waited about an hour total for our food with no real explanation for why. They gave us free cookies to make up for it but I don’t really think it justifies the amount of time we had to wait. Our food was a mix of lukewarm and cold, not very seasoned. They also got my side wrong (ordered pasta salad, received mixed fruit). All in all, I wouldn’t recommend this place. Skip it in favor of some better local favorites.

It was our first time here, we had high expectations due to the positive reviews and pictures displayed in their Google profile. Here’s our experience and feedback:
1. Food: We ordered pastries for the kids and the girl who was taking the order asked if we wanted them warmed up, so we said yes. We then noticed they were being heated in a microwave. We also ordered a breakfast sandwich, the frittata and a couple regular breakfast dishes. The food took 20-30 minutes to arrive. It was room temperature as if it was sitting out served for some time instead of it being served right away after being cooked. The dishes were not served all at once, they came out within a few minutes apart (5-7min) so we all ate separately. The eggs didn’t have salt, they were undercooked and the frittata was overcooked. The breakfast sandwich was good and the cappuccinos were good as well.
2. Service: They take the order fast and accurately, however, the food took too long and came to the table separated for each one of us so we couldn’t eat together. When they served the food it was clear they were in a rush or understaffed as the dishes were either overcooked and some undercooked and without salt.
They are a good pastry and coffee shop, I would not go back to have breakfast/brunch.

Super cute shop that I love to frequent. The decor is cute and it has a cozy environment to get work done on my computer. All the food and coffees I’ve tried have been excellent.
