First time going to this restaurant. Prices were good, the staff was so sweet and the food was delicious we had 5 in our party and all were happy with their food!! Have already recommended it to friends. I had a grouper sandwich with Greek potatoes and it was delicious ?
We had a Club Spain and Gyro with Greek potatoes and would recommend the Gyro! The Club Spain was a little dry; the ciabatta was soft and airy, just needed a touch more of the pesto sauce. The seating/space is intimate and cozy. The prices are comparable to other restaurants on the Square.
My mother, brother and I visited Capers on the Square and had a mediocre experience. I ordered the Moussaka ($22), which would be a pass for me in the future; the eggplant did not seem to be fully cooked. My mother had chicken alfredo ($21), which was pretty good. My brother enjoyed the falafel ($14). Outside of the mediocre Moussaka, the food was fine, but not amazing. The waitress was actually the bartender, so she distracted and we never did get water refills. We had about a 45-minute wait to be seated (accurate to what they told us when we gave our name), but were seated outside in the cold. We literally wore hats and gloves while eating. I wish they'd had a hot tea or other beverage, and they absolutely need outdoor heaters, plus perhaps a plastic tent for outdoor diners. Additionally, when we put our names on the waitlist, there were quite a few tables that had not been bussed. We almost passed on the restaurant for its appearance alone. Summary: some dishes are fine, definitely sit inside and use waitlist long before you are hungry! We will skip next time and try other restaurants in Dahlonega.
We had a fun time at capers. We hinted around toewn for a lunch spot and came upon Capers. It was a deist day but we sat outside because seating is very limited. We sat under the awning and stayed mostly dry. We did see every waitress they had once which is why I gave it a 4. It is Greek I think. Food. Was different and unique from thheyrest of our weekend fare. It was really good. The vegetable flatbread looked beautiful and tasted great.
Who knew? The best grouper sandwich in Georgia is in a restaurant in Dahlonega! We had been here before but just for a drink at the bar. This trip we tried it for dinner. The food was excellent. It’s not exactly like what you would get in Greece, but it is very close. The Tzatziki was well made, and the Pita Bread was great. The portion was plenty for two of us to share as a starter. My wife loved the Salmon, but the star of the evening was the grouper sandwich. I was skeptical, Gulf Fish in North Georgia? But our server assured me it would be great. She was absolutely correct. Service was efficient. We were not in a hurry, so we were not rushed. The wine list was limited, less than 10 offerings, but it did have a Greek Red and White wine. We each ordered a glass of the Greek red and white wine and thought they were very good.
We were tired and hungry after a day on the trail. When we arrived, we were greeted by a cheerful team member who politely welcomed us. The restaurant was very busy, so we had to wait a bit, but the wait was worth it. We had the charcuterie and goat cheese and fig appetizers and a burger with Greek potatoes. Everything was delicious and Sara provided excellent service. Sitting outside on the square added a very relaxing vibe to the whole experience. Kudos, Capers is our new go-to restaurant in Dahlonega!
I went here with high expectations and sadly left disappointed. We ordered the Hummus appetizer which was really quite good, although we enjoyed some flavors more than others... the warm pita bread was amazing. The disappointment for me was in my main dish. My friend and I ordered the Lamb Gyros and both agreed that it did not taste good. We have both had numerous Gyros in our lifetime, but this just tasted strange and could not eat it. The manager saw us trying to hide our disappointment and came over and offered us a replacement Chicken Gyro which I thought was very nice of him. Sadly, it was worse than the lamb! My friend believed it was canned chicken, because it was very wet and flavorless. Perhaps we came on a bad day or should have ordered another item, but it just was not for either of us.
Very good food and excellent service from Jordan. There is a nice bar and both inside and outside seating. Eggplant stack was great.
Incredible food and service Was top notch. Sat at the bar and the service was fast and the food outstanding. For a cocktail, try the springtime sipper!
Cute little hole in the wall type place. The fig and goat cheese Flatbread was so good.l as was the falafel. I would definitely go back!

So, my husband and I decided to give this “cute little greek restaurant” a shot being new to the city of Dahlonega, it was a Friday afternoon around 4:30 when we went in for an early dinner. We don’t drink so all we ordered was water, as well as the $18 “sampler” that included tzatziki, hummus, and baba ghanouj. We got our appetizer, but had to wait another 25 min for the server/bartender to come take our actual food order. The pita bread was generic store bought and burned on one side, the tzatziki was flavorless, the hummus was even worse, the only thing that has any flavor was the baba ghanouj, but even that was mediocre at best.I ordered the falafel sandwich, it was lack luster and very inconsistent in flavor. It was inauthentic and very basic and of course the pita was burnt. I ordered the green beans as a side and they were lacking in flavor and soggy. My husband ordered the Gyro, that was by far the most disappointing basic frozen boiled gyro meat and again that tasteless tzatziki was dribbled on the burnt pita. He ordered the roasted potatoes on the side, they were also burn and flavorless.Needless to say the food was overpriced and underwhelming. Do not recommend
We really enjoyed our choices. The calamari appetizer was hit and crispy. The lamb burger tasted good. The Greek potatoes side dish was a hit with all. My bride had the salmon and it was very good. The gyro was large and also good. We split 2 desserts, the baklava cheesecake and the chocolate mousse and both were very good. It is an older building and very small and tightly packed.
My club Spain salmon sandwich was lacking actual meat, zest or flavor. I think a $16 sandwich should at least rival an $8 sub. My gf got the Greek lamb burger which she said was good but lacked salt. Also the outdoor seating is on the sidewalk which slants downward and is uncomfortable as you watch the condensation from your glass roll into your pants lap.
Excellent service and very tasty food. Had the grouper sandwich and it was fantastic. Highly recommend this restaurant on the square.
Food was yummy. We ate outside on the sidewalk in great weather. Our server, a young man, was great- when I asked for suggestions, he mentioned favorites from each section of the menu and explained anything we asked about. We'll definitely be back! This is a salmon sandwich (I don't remember its official name) with the roasted potatoes. I would get both of these again. Husband had a gyro with the chips - also good.
