"Hunger is the best pickle" I always thought that statement was true until I came to this restaurant. I came here at 4 pm and hadn't eaten all day. I ordered a lamb gyro and it's a crime that they're allowed to charge $16 for something so terrible. The lamb was unseasoned and everything else tasted stale. The servers kept recommending the Greek potatoes saying they were sooooo good but when ordered they tasted like nothing. The servers were very nice though.

Hubs and I went here for dinner on a recent trip to Dahlonega. It was fine but we weren't impressed. The food was fine but a bit overpriced for the quality and portions. The food was a bit bland but we each got a cocktail that we enjoyed! The service was very good so I hate that the food was lackluster.

Cute little place in dahlonega. Servers were super friendly and the spanakopita was delicious!

First time going to this restaurant. Prices were good, the staff was so sweet and the food was delicious we had 5 in our party and all were happy with their food!! Have already recommended it to friends. I had a grouper sandwich with Greek potatoes and it was delicious ?

We had a Club Spain and Gyro with Greek potatoes and would recommend the Gyro! The Club Spain was a little dry; the ciabatta was soft and airy, just needed a touch more of the pesto sauce. The seating/space is intimate and cozy. The prices are comparable to other restaurants on the Square.

My mother, brother and I visited Capers on the Square and had a mediocre experience. I ordered the Moussaka ($22), which would be a pass for me in the future; the eggplant did not seem to be fully cooked. My mother had chicken alfredo ($21), which was pretty good. My brother enjoyed the falafel ($14). Outside of the mediocre Moussaka, the food was fine, but not amazing. The waitress was actually the bartender, so she distracted and we never did get water refills. We had about a 45-minute wait to be seated (accurate to what they told us when we gave our name), but were seated outside in the cold. We literally wore hats and gloves while eating. I wish they'd had a hot tea or other beverage, and they absolutely need outdoor heaters, plus perhaps a plastic tent for outdoor diners. Additionally, when we put our names on the waitlist, there were quite a few tables that had not been bussed. We almost passed on the restaurant for its appearance alone. Summary: some dishes are fine, definitely sit inside and use waitlist long before you are hungry! We will skip next time and try other restaurants in Dahlonega.

Oh my goodness! The salmon ciabatta sandwich is to die for it's a charming place that tucked away in downtown dahlonega!

Service left much to be desired. We were seated and never had a waitress come to our table. Left after 15 minuets.

The food was better than expected. We had a really nice goat cheese and fig flatbread on one visit and tried the lemon chicken soup and lamb burger the second time. The burger was served with feta and tzatziki sauce with greek potato on the side. All were pretty yummy. As usual in downtown Dahlonega, the service was slow (but very friendly). The food made it worth the wait. Capers is right on the square with a perfect view of the old courthouse, so you can't beat the location.

Tourist trap - upscale prices for sub-par food. The servers were friendly and attentive but the food and everything else was awful. Gyro meat wasn't actually gyro meat and tasted really strange, hummus was store-bought, fries were hard and cold, and my $14 "flatbread" was toppings slathered on a piece of grocery store pita bread. All of it was served on disposable plastic plates. Go elsewhere in Dahlonega if you want a nice dinner. I am actually angry that we spent $100+ here for a party of 5.

I ordered the chicken gyro on gluten free flat bread with a side of Greek potatoes. The only item that had any flavor was the flatbread and it was over cooked. The chicken tasted like it came out of a can- no seasoning what so ever. The onions appeared to be boiled. They forgot the tzatziki sauce at first. My husband went inside to ask for some. The waitress brought it out- even it was rather bland. I was extremely disappointed. My husband got the blackened grouper sandwich- the fish was delicious and very well seasoned. The wait staff was very nice but didn't seem concerned when I spoke to them about the gyro. We won't be back.

We had a fun time at capers. We hinted around toewn for a lunch spot and came upon Capers. It was a deist day but we sat outside because seating is very limited. We sat under the awning and stayed mostly dry. We did see every waitress they had once which is why I gave it a 4. It is Greek I think. Food. Was different and unique from thheyrest of our weekend fare. It was really good. The vegetable flatbread looked beautiful and tasted great.

Who knew? The best grouper sandwich in Georgia is in a restaurant in Dahlonega! We had been here before but just for a drink at the bar. This trip we tried it for dinner. The food was excellent. It’s not exactly like what you would get in Greece, but it is very close. The Tzatziki was well made, and the Pita Bread was great. The portion was plenty for two of us to share as a starter. My wife loved the Salmon, but the star of the evening was the grouper sandwich. I was skeptical, Gulf Fish in North Georgia? But our server assured me it would be great. She was absolutely correct. Service was efficient. We were not in a hurry, so we were not rushed. The wine list was limited, less than 10 offerings, but it did have a Greek Red and White wine. We each ordered a glass of the Greek red and white wine and thought they were very good.

We were tired and hungry after a day on the trail. When we arrived, we were greeted by a cheerful team member who politely welcomed us. The restaurant was very busy, so we had to wait a bit, but the wait was worth it. We had the charcuterie and goat cheese and fig appetizers and a burger with Greek potatoes. Everything was delicious and Sara provided excellent service. Sitting outside on the square added a very relaxing vibe to the whole experience. Kudos, Capers is our new go-to restaurant in Dahlonega!

What a quaint town. No chain resto. where is absolutely traditional and what makes up the town. A complete small business supporting each other. I travelled and live in Greece and I must say it's not a copy cat, but the family atmosphere made it up. Sometimes it's not not the decor but it's the culture . I will be back again . The lamb gyro is a street food for everyone. Epcaristo para poli.
