Picnic Cafe and Dessertery

Even though the proprietor is a GA fan (Roll Tide), we dined here two days in a row with my mother who lives in town. Besides the great food, the staff treated my mother with such kindness and respect. This is the real south. With thanks.

I don't recommend this place for anyone with dietary restrictions. There are only a few options depending on your needs. Even the BBQ and Brunswick Stew have gluten in them. The upcharge for dietary needs are outrageous: They charged us $3.50 for 2 slices of gluten free bread.

The service was neglectful and slow. It took around 10 minutes for the staff to notice that we were there and send a waiter/waitress. Then another 15 minutes for the food to come out.

Food wise the chicken salad and potato salad was delicious. Nevertheless, I won't be returning here.

Until today, it has been several years since I’ve been here. I remembered the place vaguely and told my husband about it and so here we are! We really enjoyed the whole experience! Weather was perfect, we sat outside and everything we ate was delicious!! Service was fantastic!!! Highly, highly recommend!

Had a quiche one tiny slice for $9. The girl told me I could sit anywhere and brought my lunch in a bag. She did not even ask me if it is for here or to go. She put it in a bag as if she wanted me to leave and not eat there. The food is not even average. Will not go back!!

Had a wonderful lunch at Picnic Cafe a few weekends ago! It’s super cute inside and everything we ordered was delicious. I had the pimento BLT, which was divine, with a cup of Brunswick Stew, which was decent. The potato salad was BANGING. Both of my dining partners also enjoyed their food as well, would go back and recommend.

Had a pretty jarring experience here last sunday, which is a shame. I brought my out of town family here for treats and before we had a chance to pick out what we wanted to order, one of the staff kept urging us to keep moving to the register by the ice cream counter. She mentioned it not once, but three times. Only ended up getting my daughter a pastry and she didnt give my partner and I time to pick something to order. I think she was nervous about counting her register maybe, but it was insanely rude and gave me a panic attack. We're local and come here pretty regularly but we won't be back.

You must try this place. They bake their on bread and cakes. It is a small café and always full so get there early.

A classic cafe with southern atmosphere/hospitality. I came in with a group of 7 and wearing a GoPro and they didn’t seem to mind. Mashallah 10/10 would highly recommend to anyone that has a soul!
