Didn't ever work here. My husband worked there and never received money for the month and a half he worked there. They refused to give him checks even though his coworker received one. His friend that works there now was supposed to receive checks to but they made him get a wisely card and didn't tell him about it until they refused to give him a check on pay day.
It's good and even very novel when you have it the first 10 or so times, but when you're a student, you notice a lot of variation in the quality of the food. Take for example chicken finger Friday - I've had well-cooked tenders paired with a plethora of sides, ranging from a customizable salad bar to breadsticks to a deli to even an upstairs grill, but other times, they've been slightly undercooked or soggy. That kind of ruins the meal. There are a lot of days that I find myself missing the variety of Chow Hall itself - it greatly triumphs over the spartan meals of traditional military academies (I've heard that the Citadel's dining hall is horrible) - but other days, I feel justified in gorging on campus food court/c-store/Walmart food most of the time.
Incredibly inconsistent, bad food. What your getting is usually left out for hours, or made weeks prior. There are a few chiefs who actually know how to cook more than a stouffers meal (shoutout to Rick), but when they aren’t cooking its pretty much inedible. Rather eat public school cafeteria food then here most of the time.
Dale is the man!
Want to dip your own food like an adult? Sorry, but that's not allowed anymore. Wanna know who's responsible for that? Look around for a weirdo dressed in business attire that roams chow. You can thank him for the new changes. It's like trying to get food from Unkar Plutt in Star Wars. Now u only get tiny portions and have to beg for the food you already payed for. And the tiny bit you get gives you food poisoning for destroys your bowels. Do better, UNG.
Lots of options...even for a vegetarian. The staff is very friendly and quickly fixed the soft serve ice-cream machine when it broke down.
After a long day at work I was hungry. Matt was making pizza and I took 3 slices ?. Yes 3 ok. They were soo fresh and good, and he was so friendly. If people would understand how much effort they put in to feed 1000's and being short staffed. It's under new management and I can tell the food is getting better.
The food is edible. There is food at this diner
I like UNG Dahlonega, honestly. I enjoy the small-town environment, the mountains and the more personalized feeling in classes, but chow really drags it down. Its sad, because I want to like it but sometimes its just inedible. My public high school cafeteria would often have better tasting food.
Never enough variety, below average food. Always missing something. Ice machine always broken. Most public high schools make better food than this. People who wrote a good review are LYING. Likely motivated to write a good review for benefits provided by the school. I can’t believe I spent 2 grand for a meal plan, I spent more money buying outside food than dining in. Nothing is good. Ask any student. This is the main reason why this is a transfer school for many people. Not even specials are available anymore, something is always broken. Cough cough…. Milkshake machine
