Everything was fantastic! The room was nice and the food is good. The only thing I can say it needs is a microwave in the room or at least somewhere on the property so you can heat your leftovers back up.Rooms: Beautiful, but need a microwave.Nearby activities: It's a short walk to almost everything.Safety: Dahlonega is a safe small town.Walkability: Almost everything is a short walk away.Food & drinks: The food is right on par with the Dillard House.

I am speaking on me and my fellow classmates behalf, this was the most amazing restaurant we have ever eaten at. The food was just right and ascended my soul. I am not the same man anymore. This has changed my perspective on life and food. The cook was super nice and sweet. Incredibly

I was in the dining room years ago and remember it as being pretty good. Returned this week and was very disappointed. The chicken was the best dish served and it was pretty average…the pot roast and most sides (other than the Mac & Cheese) were bland and flavorless. Good service though.Sorry, but no longer worth the price !!

First time eating there and visiting Dahlonega, Ga.!! We went for Christmas getaway!! We were a little bit disappointed because the chicken was a bit dry And the price was a too much for not getting an extra helping on some food like The Dillard House does!!We would have loved some more of the corn!!

We met for dinner at the Smith House in Dahlonega. We frequent this city and love the shops and antique stores. This was our 2nd trip to the Smith House. The first time we visit we decided that the food was not extraordinary but, the nostalgia, service, and portions made up for that.Tonight’s experience was the same, less the service and the portions. There were 6 of us at the table and while a variety was provided, the servings were lacking and barely made it around the table.Very disappointed.

We went here as a day trip. The atmosphere, service, and food were all great. Service with a smile and plenty of food. Very interesting history.

Great location and super cute room. I stayed in a 2 bed/2 bath with my family, and our room was equipped with a full kitchen, living room, and balcony with rocking chairs. We were in room 124, literally steps away from the adorable shops and restaurants. It was very convent to walk out of our room and simply cross the street to have breakfast and meander the quaint shops. The room was competitively priced and was a good value for our money. Everyone was well cleaned and comfortable. We stayed 3 nights (Friday - Monday). Here's the downside to this historic hotel:No elevators. We had to climb 2 flights of stairs from the parking lot with our heavy luggage. If you are unable to climb stairs or carry your heavy luggage by yourself, this will be an issue. We arrived after hours (after 10 pm) and were told there would be an extra blanket and pillow in each room, which there wasn't. The beds only had a sheet and a very thin cover and only one of the rooms had an extra blanket. We were cold on our first night. When you stay with multiple people (there were 3 of us), agreeing on the temperature of the house can be challenging (there was one main cooling/heating system for the whole space). Housekeeping should ensure that each room has the amenities it needs. Something as simple as extra blankets should be standard. We were also told there would be bottles of water in our room, which there was not. That may seem like a small thing to mention, but after a long day of travel from the west coast and arriving late at night, it would have been nice to have some bottled water.Being steps away from the main square was a pleasant surprise and welcomed, but it was also very noisy. There were lots of people and street traffic noise on Friday and Saturday night. It was quieter on Sunday, but Monday morning we were awakened at 7:15am by the city's workers and their gas powered leaf blowers. For nearly 75 minutes they sounded as if they were in our room. I know the hotel has no control over this, but they could certainly invest in upgraded windows. The windows in the bedroom were drafty and old with no seal and no screens. Every little noise from outside felt like it was in our room. Waking up this way really soured the end of our stay.Overall, it was a good trip. If we every stay here again, we will be mindful of where our room is located and possibly request one farther away from the busy town square.

Beautifully old fashion family style Southern meals. Food is cooked with love to absolute perfection. Staff was kind and welcoming. A true southern delight. This is a must of your visiting.

We went here today for Thanksgiving. Workers were really nice but that food was horrible and so much of it wasn't hardly warm. I will never go back. It was such a waste of money and time. They don't even refill the food bowls like Dillard House and Buckners. Such a disappointing thing indeed.

Ate at the restaurant. Family style dining. A little expensive but we'll worth it. Great food.
