No BBQ pit to speak of? I dont know. But it was bland. Rubbery. Chopped to BITS to disguise the lack of technique or skill. Or effort for that matter. I THINK I was served "brisket" and "chicken".I've had better "BBQ" in an MRE.The beans tasted like they were STRAIGHT from a low budget can, no tweaks even. Took two bites and gave up. Same with cole slaw.Employees were SUPER nice. Cant say that enough. But the "BBQ" literally didnt qualify as BBQ to me. Here's pics of the styrofoam dry chop I was served, and to compare, BBQ from a total beginner new place in TX.If you have a smoker, USE it. If you have a pit, FIRE it up. Low & slow. Give it love. I'm a huge fan of the corn nuggets, Brunswick stew, and hamburger steak. I've never been disappointed in the food until recently. Last time I visited, I was disappointed in my meat (chopped, not shredded, and not very tasty) and the pie was off. The flavor of the food is really good, so the food would've gotten a better score if it wasn't for the embarrassing cheeseburgers that they sent home with me tonight. $48 worth of food. 2 cheeseburgers: thin and not even covering the bun, fries, corn nuggets, Brunswick stew, and 1 sweet tea, so $24 a person to have a cheeseburger with a side and split a Brunswick stew. When did the prices become that high? The corn nuggets were on point as always. The food was hot, but what a slap in the face to pay those prices and get a child size hamburger patty on a full sized bun.Parking: Parking is difficult during peak times only. Sometimes hard to walk in dress shoes as far as needed since it's all gravel. Challenged with parking when I have my handicapped grandmother.Kid-friendliness: Drive through is great! It's is very small and social inside. You can find good child menu items. The booths are big enough to fit multiple children. It's very friendly and inviting.Wheelchair accessibility: There's not enough room between the tables to maneuver and tables along the walls are always full.

The food taste like it’s made for the old folks home it’s bland the flavors are off the ribs where hard like jerky and you get partial refund for bad food you couldn’t eat…. This place is the worst… Not a friendly place in the restaurant and whoever hands an award for this bbq needs to really rethink their standards of good food…. I will not be returning this was my first time her and i throughly regret it!!!!!

Great place, actually stopped by on my way home to Indiana from Florida. If you want authentic southern comfort food, this is it. Much better than chain restaurants! Has the genuine atmosphere, too!Come with an appetite, but be aware that the meals will stick to your ribs. Their Fried Okra side was exceptional, a lot of national chains just can't seem to do fried okra properly. The peanut butter pie is also amazing! This Hoosier recommends John's.Parking: Gravel, unmarked, but spacious.

First address the three I gave it for atmosphere. The place is really cute but when I have to go in I never like it because their customers always put on Fox News and that just kills me because it just broadcast hate. I wish they would lock it on a sports channel or some other neutral channel. But that said you can't beat it for food so I go there and I've been going there forever. And they sell a Nelson plate...what else could a person need. Hook that up with the good service and friendly people and I can't recommend it enough.
