We love history and this had everything. There is even a ten minute video in the theater.

Definitely enjoyed this historical location, quite a bit of History happened here! The park ranger in the staff were absolutely fantastic! This is such a unique place in wellworth the visit! From the historic gravesites outside, the fort that has been recreated, and all of the historical items inside the museum make this a wonderful place for a family to explore.

This is the first British fort on the Georgia coast and is a good example of what life was like back then. The complex is relatively small, but every house is accessible and one or two can be discovered, such as the barrels of rum. Well, the soldiers back then already knew what was good. Of course, a detour to the river couldn't be missed and the sign about alligators didn't deter me. But I haven't seen any.

Best to visit when the ground is dry. We went after a night of thunderstorms, and many of the paths for exhibits were muddy, so we didn't go down those paths. The exhibits were well explained, and were kept up, so no structure issues. Really enjoyed the museum, but we didn't have enough time to interact or read all the information posted The employees were helpful. We went when in the morning, right after it opened, and we're the only ones there. As we were leaving, the parking area was full. I would recommend for school age kids and adults, people that can obey directions. There are areas that no one should adventure off too ( water areas because of alligators and snakes). There are public bathrooms and vending machines in museum. There is a video to watch also. There is an admission fee, if you want to see all the place has to offer. At first I thought it seemed a little pricey, but after walking and seeing the exhibits and natural beauty of the place, and museum, I was glad we paid it. I hope to go back when it is dryer. Don't forget your bug spray and water bottle!

Excellent place to visit. Very educational, handicap access. Clean bathrooms and they even have a cart for disable people to access the fort. The exhibits are wonderful. This place transport you to the past, very pretty views of the area. It's worth the price, weekdays is not full so you can take your time checking out the place at your own pace. You'll be glad to visit this site.

Fun historical side trip. Excellent little museum with hands-on exhibits and informative video. Buildings (recreated) give a good idea of what life would have been like there.
Compact site with friendly staff.

Not really wheelchair accessible but easy to walk on the paths and in the buildings. Can get very hot . Luckily it was not buggy when we visited.

Relaxing a senic and a step back in time a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the world we live in and learn a little about how every thing we have and enjoy came to be it all started in places like this in a much simpler time. I love every visit I make here

We visited this site towards the end of the day, it was a step back in time. It was hard to imagine living like this, it's no wonder that there was a lot of illness and death. Anyway the Fort was very interesting and also there are some pretty views of the river. It would be an awesome place to see the sunset. Although it closes at 5pm.

I love stopping here to get out and stretch and take a nice walk while traveling from home in Florida to family in NC. It’s a great way to spend a couple of hours and get a nice peek into what life was like for those who settled here. The staff is always so welcoming and friendly and the grounds are well kept and informative. Well worth the detour off 95 to visit.
