This was the first time we visited The Canopy and it won't be the last. We loved everything from the deliciousness and variety of food to the amazing service to the lovely atmosphere and beauty of the 1895 building. We enjoyed lunch on the balcony this time, but hope to visit for breakfast and dinner as well. It's over an hour drive for us, but worth every mile we have to travel.
Pulling from her Native American heritage, chef Megan has crafted an eclectic menu reflecting both the coastal vibes of Georgia as well as her ancestry-Redfish, Boar, Duck, Crab & shellfish, & the dériveur Steak. Every item we tried was prepared & presented perfectly. As a side note, our hotel had a good breakfast, yet the staff said The Canopy had the Best breakfasts in All Darien.
The converted house is beautiful but Sunday brunch was disappointing. I'm a biscuit love and the basket of buscuts was disappointing? They looked great but I think we're warmed over and we're heavy and greasy. We both had a skillet. My husband had a meat lovers and I had the veggies both were bland and uninspired. For the veg skillwt, The flavors just didn't combine well. It was rather bland and the goat cheese was really strong and overwhelmed. Service was...
