Our family stopped in on the Saturday morning before Thanksgiving. There were 8 of us and we all left happy.
The food was very good overall. I ordered the country fried steak with eggs and enjoyed my meal. The others were pleased with the breakfasts they had. The most negative thing I heard were a couple of them mention a side was just okay.
Even with a larger group there was only one minor issue that was quickly taken care of by our excellent server Marlon. He was friendly, prompt, and informative. All of the staff we interacted with were nice, but he was a standout.
The prices were reasonable ($9-$13 for our breakfasts) and the portion sizes were good. We enjoyed the fun and casual decor. It is a great place to get a country breakfast when near Dawsonville.

We got there for a late lunch. They were able to accommodate my mom's accessibility needs. The server was patient and pointed out substitutions we could make. Mom was craving a fish sandwich. We were able to have the fish grilled which made for a really delicious sandwich. I got cole slaw...a bit bland and mayonnaise-y, could have used a bit of mustard or vinegar for a little "bite".
Parking: Handicap parking is NOT in front of the restaurant, but halfway down the shopping center... not a good situation if the weather is bad.
Wheelchair accessibility: The dining room has wheelchair accessibility, but the curb cut from the parking lot is halfway down the shopping center...in front of the liquor store 🤔

Busy Saturday morning, but we were seated within 10 minutes. Waitress quickly brought coffee and then took our order. My wife and I had the build your own breakfast. Between the two of us we had scrambled eggs, wheat toast, grits, hash browns bacon and the hot link. The meal was lukewarm warm. The “crispy” bacon we ordered was not crispy; we heard another table order “extra crispy” bacon, so we learned. The hash browns were a little over cooked making it hard to chew.

We've been wanting to check this place out for a while and finally did. I have to say we were EXTREMELY PLEASED with EVERYTHING from the FOOD to the SERVICE! With country cooking becoming harder and harder to find, it's quite nice to find one that's JUST GREAT ALL AROUND! The food was AMAZING! My wife had the veggie plate with fried okra, crowder peas, green bean casserole, and potato salad. The meal also came with a choice of bread, of which the garlic bread was chosen and which I also ate. I thought it was VERY DELICIOUS! My wife thoroughly enjoyed her meal (especially the peas). I myself tried their chicken, egg, and cheese biscuit and the meat lover's skillet. By-the-way, breakfast is served all day! Although I ate way too much, the food was ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL! It's very hard to find REAL COUNTRY COOKING these days and if you're a big fan, then you DEFINITELY NEED TO TRY THIS PLACE!

The food was really really good! Oh my gosh, try the cinnamon rolls. And don't forget to ask for Kelly, she's one of the best servers out there! Thank you Kelly for your excellent customer service 👍🙂

I don't understand the hype by a small but loyal band of locals. The food is unremarkable. Cheesy eggs includes scrambled eggs with a square of unmelted american cheese laid on top. That's it. Wait times from when your order is placed to when food arrives can be long. We arrived at opening thinking there'd be a crowd. There was no crowd. We waited about 30 minutes for our food, which was, as stated unremarkable for the hype and the wait. We had to beg for coffee refills, beg for creamers, beg for the ticket at the end, and the server was fairly curt the entire time like we were inconveniencing her morning by being customers. If you want a great breakfast, made right to order, go south to Exit 14 and go to The Station House instead. Great food and good service don't need hype or cheerleaders, word of mouth is the advertising you can't buy.

First time eating there and it was great, will definitely be back when in Georgia visiting family.
Vegetarian options: If you like country food then you'll love their veggies, not fond of meat so their vegetable plate hit the spot.

I don't know what happened to Papas Place, but the food has taken a turn. My last 2 visits weren't great. The latest one, I was thrilled to see the soup was ham and bean. I ordered a bowl to go. When I got home, it was so salty to the point that it was not edible and went in the trash can. I left 2 stars cuz the gals still give great service. But the food isn't as good as it once was.

Papa's was great since it opened up a long time ago. Recently, they sold the business to somebody else. The new owners tried to change the menu and staff. It did not work out well for them at all. Many long-time customers decided not to go back. I'm told the new owners listen all the comments and changed it back to its original idea. Now as of October 10th, 2024, the old menu and great service is back. For all the customers that used to go there, please give them another chance. It's back to its original form and worth it.

I can't say enough about Papa's Place and their staff. We hosted our rehearsal dinner, for our upcoming wedding, on a busy Friday night and they were nothing but accommodating. The staff was incredible, food was fresh and tasty and they provided great service. Everyone loved the specials and wide variety of choices and a special treat at the end. Rhonda helped us organize the entire night with little notice and she even helped serve our table. Highly recommend this restaurant if you're looking for some good southern cooking with great service! Thank you Papa's Place we definitely be back!
