After walking up what seemed like a thousand flights of stairs, dinner at The Maple was a real treat. We were seated at the window with the most gorgeous mountainous view. We started the buffet with a fresh garden salad, delicious potato soup and Brunswick stew. Then proceeded with our main course which consisted of roasted Brussels sprouts, squash casserole, roasted seasoned potatoes, herb chicken and beef medallion. Everything thing was divine. For dessert we went all in with a slice of pecan pie, sweet potato pie and peach cobbler. Our server Joe was attentive and hospitable. The atmosphere felt luxurious for a buffet but we felt very comfortable. Overall definitely recommend. Wonderful experience.
After reading some bad Google reviews we were hesitant about eating at The Maple Restaurant. HOWEVER, we were there and the view is awesome so I asked to see the buffet before being seated at a table. Buffet is the only option and after looking at the lunch buffet we were thrilled. The salad bar was fresh and plentiful, veggie lasagna, spaghetti and meatballs, green beans, bread and peach cobbler was all delicious. Server was friendly and nice. I told the young lady I would be writing a good Google review for the restaurant. We look forward to going back.
Listen, I'm ONLY giving two stars because the staff was helpful and very friendly. The food on the other hand...terrible. We had the sunset dinner package when we booked out room. The pictures on the site are VERY misleading. Instead of a fancy delicate meal that you would pair with wine, it was a buffet style with over cooked red meat and unseasoned chicken. The next morning we had breakfast, we should have waited till we checked out and went somewhere else. It was buffet style again. Which is okay because it's breakfast and you see that a lot with hotels and lodges. The biscuits were alright, the fruit needed some help and some were way past their ripe date. The eggs had a funny taste to them and very dry.I'm just saying, staff were amazing, food terrible.
We were not aware it was buffet only until we sat down and ordered drinks. The offerings were mostly high carb pastas and cobbler for dessert. We are healthier eaters so it was disappointing, especially for the price we paid. The staff member who served us was great though! I did send a review to the manager and suggested posting food options and price at the entrance so guests are aware head of time.
Went on 5/17/22 for lunch. First red flag, it’s rating is an 80 from the health dept. I would not normally go inside a place with that rating but were with friends staying there and there were no other options. There is no a la carte, every meal is buffet. $17 each for lunch. Hot dogs, hamburgers, tough bland chicken breast, baked beans, pot salad, Mac n cheese, creamed corn, chili, Brunswick stew, small salad bar, peach cobbler which was labeled cherry. Hardly anyone there and I can see why. Food was so so, hot foods not hot or even warm. Server was very personable, very attentive. If u plan on staying at lodge, make arrangements to eat elsewhere in Dawsonville or Dahlonega if possible. Shame the restaurant is not top notch as the views are great and wait staff good.
We had eaten at The Maple restaurant years ago and the buffet was amazing. Not anymore. $21 a person and the food was cold and the buffet offered few options and only one dessert option. We had our granddaughter with us and she barely ate anything. I choked some food down only because of the price but it was not good.We brought friends who were visiting from out of town and after telling them that it was such a wonderful place to eat, we ended up being so embarrassed about bringing them here.Sometimes they offer a menu but not last night. Don’t know why they don’t offer the menu sometimes but maybe they should just stick to a basic menu. The buffet wasn’t even worth $5!It’s sad that it’s so awful because it used to be so good and it’s such a beautiful place to go to with such amazing views.
We stayed at the campgrounds and initially avoided The Maple because some of the bad reviews. However the buffet was actually pretty good after a day of hiking. They also have a decent beverage selection out of their little bar. Having a good Cabernet while watching the sunset is a great time. Also everyone who works here is super nice and attentive. I think a lot of people set their expectations too high for a restaurant in a state park but for the money I was actually impressed!
We were in the area to go zip lining, stopped in because we were starving, buffet was delicious, our waitress was wonderful and made very helpful recommendations to make our zip line trip the best. Wish I knew her name. Great place, gorgeous view.
Worst food Ive ever had in my life. Paid 70 bucks for inedible food and can't even get delivery up here so there's that ? this in. This is not chicken Marsala. After I scraped brown gravy off it was so dry I couldn't swallow it.
This is the only place to eat and it’s not great. It’s expensive. I paid $23 for a basic burger, four small onion rings, and a small handful of cold fries. I ordered the burger well done with cheddar. It came rare with American cheese. I asked for it to be remade and was told they could offer a free desert or breakfast the next morning. I said I had hiked most of the day and really needed to eat something. They finally agreed to remake it. This one was so beyond burnt it was inedible. It still had American cheese but that didn’t matter because I couldn’t eat it anyway. The really weird thing was that the top bun was wet and had several pieces of glitter on it. Yes, glitter. Small bits so I’m guessing it was from makeup which is kind of gross to think about.Interestingly, the first night I stayed there I ordered the onion rings and they were fantastic. Big, breaded, and crispy. I ordered them again the second night. This time they were completely different. Small and batter dipped instead of breaded. There were only four, the first night there were 7 or 8. They need to work on consistency.

My husband and I visited here on New Years Eve night just for something convenient so we wouldn’t have to drive. If you are considering eating here…save your money and don’t. The wait staff were super nice and friendly but the food..oh my goodness disgusting. It was buffet style, the steak was cold and raw inside, the shrimp scampi pasta had whole unpeeled shrimp the pot which made the noodles have an extreme seafood taste, the cherry pie was hard and tasted old.. it was not a good experience at all and for 26 bucks a plate I could have picked something much better!
Melony was a GREAT server! The food and dessert tasted like it was microwaved. My son's pasta tasted like plastic. Cleanliness was good.
My sister and I went here for lunch after taking the stairs up the falls. Our plan was to let our legs rest during lunch, so that we could then walk back down the stairs. Great plan, not such a great lunch. The restaurant was completely empty when we got there on a Friday at noon. The only option was the lunch buffet. The very overpriced lunch buffet. But we needed to eat, so we had the buffet. The salad bar was good but not worth the $18 price tag. Nothing at the buffet was memorable or something I would "order again". The ambiance is definitely not worth the price either. I guess it's like real estate. Location. Location. Location. And the fact that it's the only place to eat. Next time I will bring my own lunch.
I don’t typically leave reviews but this one is well deserved. We visited the Maple restaurant before going to the falls. The only option was the buffet. They didn’t have a menu to order from at the time we went. The food was almost inedible. My children refused to eat. The adults stomached it just because it was going to be awhile before we could eat again. I was almost speechless. I can’t fathom how such a beautiful restaurant with amazing views and amenities would serve something like we had. I do not suggest the buffet. To anyone. Ever. Maybe when they serve fresh food it’s better, I would call before going.
