This place is my guilty pleasure! I used to go to the Varsity downtown when I was a kid after Braves games and remembered the long lines and yelling and just couldn’t wait to get some greasy food and go try to find a place to sit. Well now all of that is way up here in Dawsonville without the wait and plenty of seating! I basically was able to walk up within seconds of arriving and order the same things I always did and it still tastes the same as it did back in the 70’s...
Nothing like a good ole burger or slaw dog and fries from a diner. Food hasn't changed as long as they have been in business which is not necessarily a bad thing. Would recommend and have been back a few times.
This is one of the ONLY restaurants that gets my order right the first time. The food is always hot and fresh. The staff has always been polite and accommodating. I highly recommend The Varsity in Dawsonville,GA.
