I love the atmosphere, drinks and food. Service was great. It is a bit on the expensive side, however the main dishes are elevated fine dining. I had Seabass marinated in Miso and served with perfectly prepared accoutrement. My wife had the Scallops, with squash puree, delicious. I did not have the more ubiquitous Mexican offerings like the Tacos so I can't comment on those. I have a hard time spending that mush on a Taco , however if the mains were any indication of the preparation I am sure it was elevated. They also have two family style dishes , a chicken and beef birria that I was told can serve 5 or more. That is a good value if you went with your family. I would defiantly give this place a try.

Had a wonderful date night dinner here. Staff were kind and knowledgeable, especially Jesus. Guacamole was delightfully spicy, and cauliflower was delicious. Scallops were very good, and I'd never had them paired with butternut squash - great combo. My wife's vegetarian taco was a bit too spicy for her, which meant I got it - it was a bit unremarkable, but not bad. Flan and arroz con leche desserts were wonderful. Looking forward to returning.
Vegetarian options: Menu is meat-heavy. For tacos (the only thing we asked about), they're priced as a fish taco with the fish replaced with mushrooms.
Kid-friendliness: No kids menu we saw, and would not recommend for kids.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Casa Balam and it was truly unforgettable! The ambiance is vibrant and welcoming – it’s clear that a lot of thought has gone into creating a space that feels both comfortable and unique. The staff were genuinely friendly and knowledgeable, adding a personal touch to the experience.
As for the food, every dish was a standout. I tried the ceviche and it was bursting with fresh flavors and beautifully presented. It’s rare to find a place that combines creativity with authenticity but Casa Balam nails it.
Whether you’re looking for a casual night out or a special occasion, this spot is a must-visit in Decatur. Highly recommend Casa Balam – I can’t wait to come back!

We arrived 30 minutes before our reservation last night to a bunch of empty tables and asked for early seating if available. Hostesses did not handle it well at all, seemed annoyed by the ask, offered a tiny table by the front door, nor did they provide any explanation as to why so many tables were empty—-so we went to the bar, where we waited for a while, were ignored, so we left and had dinner at Parker’s on Ponce where we were seated right away and had great service.
I live and work in Decatur and I was very excited about trying this place out, made a reservation via Resy at 7:45 and was really let down by their complete lack of customer service.

We stopped in while on a short visit to Decatur. The service was welcoming. Each recommendation from Jesus was spot on. We quite enjoyed the burrata & duraznos, the tacos de carne asada & de pescado asado and the corn tres leches. This place should be on your radar
great experience here, our server, zeb was very thorough in answering menu questions i had. he gave great recommendations and explained food items in detail. he had a very bubbly personality and great sense of humor that took the experience over the top! the birria empanadas and mixed ceviche were 10/10 food options. will be revisiting

The food was AMAZING!!! Our server Jesus was also incredibe and very knowledgeable!! If you’re looking for an amazing vibe like LA or Vegas….and you want incredible authentic Mexican food, you will need to come check this place out ASAP!!!
