I love this place and the flavors are always amazing. But the portion size of some of the dishes are absurdly small, particularly the duck breast. Its like one or two small slivers of duck and $60 which is kind of ridiculous. Would be my favorite restaurant in atlanta if they worked on their portions.

A solid restaurant. My only complaint is that the prices are 25% above Kimball House but the service is not proportionately dialed in - and the food is not proportionately more elegant or flavorful. In sum, the restaurant is certainly good, but I feel it is 25% over priced. I appreciate the margins formulas and will continue to patronize this spot nonetheless.

Best meal I've had in Atlanta. The burrata, venison, and duck were knockout dishes. And don't skip dessert, the creme caramel was complex, rich nutty toasty caramel over creamy flan.

We’ve been twice now to this restaurant in two weeks. Both times we’ve driven 45 minutes in order to come experience this restaurant. The food is absolutely incredible extremely unique and well-thought-out and curated. The service is incredible and the atmosphere is super cool and a beautiful restaurant. Be sure to get the coffee rubbed venison, and the trout is incredible as well. On both occasions, people in our party got the burger and absolutely loved. It said it was one of the best burgers they’ve ever gotten.

**5 Stars – A Memorable Meal at The Deer and The Dove**
Had an incredible dinner at *The Deer and The Dove*—easily one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. After ordering a couple old fashioneds that were superbly constructed we started with a selection of small plates that were all outstanding: the **pheasant liver pâté** was silky and rich, the **octopus** was perfectly charred and tender, and the **sweetbreads** were beautifully crisp and flavorful. The **bone marrow** was indulgent and spot-on, and the **snails** in garlic butter were a classic done right.
For mains, the **halibut** was delicate, fresh, and cooked perfectly, and the **risotto pasta with ham** was pure comfort—creamy, savory, and full of umami.
Beyond the food, the kitchen staff really made the night special. They were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and clearly passionate about what they do. Clyde our server was amazing, made great recommendations and was very attentive to all our needs.
If you’re looking for a place that combines refined technique with heartfelt hospitality, *The Deer and The Dove* is it. Highly recommend. I can not wait to go back. Thanks to the entire staff for an amazing experience.

Went for drinks and was able to get a seat at the bar. Drinks were great and bartender service was nice. After viewing the menu I hope to return to try the food.

After peering through the windows and reading the menu board outside, (on my recent visit to Decatur) the Executive Chef, Alan, invited me in to take a look at the restaurant and when I told him I have a restaurants of my own in Ocean City, Maryland, he invited me to take a tour of his kitchen. I Loved that! The restaurant was not yet open but the kitchen staff were friendly and busy getting ready for the night ahead. Hope to come back soon and give it a try! Clean organized kitchens and friendly staff increase my anticipation:)
