The Deer and The Dove is one of those word-of-mouth restaurants in Decatur. I found it as a substitute for Iberian Pig nearby. OMGness!!!! This is an absolute gem of a restaurant, food, service, vibe, and facility. I usually grab their burger and roasted potatoes if I’m in a hurry, but if I’m with clients or friends, I sample the octopus, venison, market fish, or ribeye. Really enjoyed our dinner here. Menu is unique and everything we ordered was well prepared and delicious. The atmosphere is very nice, quiet and relaxing. And service was great. We will be back.
Food and drinks were incredible. However, I was disappointed with the service upon entry into the restaurant. We arrived pretty early with the main dining room having adequate and available seating. We were seated at a table that felt like an extension of the bar and positioned near a wall that serves as a primary walk way to the kitchen, bathroom for staff and patrons.
