Oh my word! I've been to several of the big bakeries on Buford but from now on I will come here. First, it's smaller and yet offers the sweet and savory options we love. Second, the owner is amazing. He explained all of the options that I didn't recognize. He was so kind. It's only take out right now during covid but so worth the stop when I shopping at one of the markets nearby. Also, parking lot is not busy since the Asian Mkt is closed. I'm coming back for a cake, which he said he needs 1 day notice to make, until then I'm enjoying my wifey cookie (winter melon) and Hong Kong tea. Yum!!
Pretty good, definitely Hong kong style pastry. The price of each bun was about $2.00. I would say the selections were small. The store clerk were nice and they all wear masks. You can call ahead of time to ask them to fill out your order so you can pick up later. They do customize cakes.
I was SO happy to find cocktail buns! And these did not disappoint. Everything was great. The egg tarts were some of the best, great crust. The savory pastries should not be missed! Reminds me of bakeries in Toronto and Scarborough.
The place may seem small, but I really like what they have! The owner (I'm guessing) is SUPER nice and friendly every time we go, and I LOVE their "wife cookie" (I always confuse the name lol) so we end up picking up a lot more than what we go in for. Overall, an excellent place to try
I love the sweet smell of the place, their selection is pretty decent and there's a real Hong Kong feel to it. So if you are into Hong Kong baked stuff, you really should check this out
Why did I not find this gem on my first visit to Atlanta?! It is amazing! So many cheap and delicious items to choose from. I loved the owner who told me about each baked item, with pride and confidence. I picked 4 and enjoyed the sweet breads more than doughnuts. The coconut cream, sweet red bean, taro, and BBQ pork were all perfect. I'm sad I have moved overseas.
This is the best bakery, Y'all. Sesame rolls - crisp fresh crunch on the outside, sweet surprise inside. Best coconut rolls hands down. Family owned operated 27 years. An investment of love. There are also these small white gooey coconut covered peanut filled things... a messy delight. And the layered fruit decorated white cakes for special occasions... definitely not Costco it Publix baked... If you want to bring something special to an office or neighborhood function - it's worth testing it out for yourself first and making a second trip for those events. Oh - the almond cookies are pretty good also. Worth the crumble!
The best BBQ pork buns I've come across in Atlanta, Houston and Dallas. The stuffing is moist, with onions, and generous. Great frozen, thawed overnight in a fridge or at room temperature for 3 hours and microwaved at 30-45 seconds. My coworkers and friends love it too! I no longer live in Georgia, so I have my parents and brother freeze and bring 10-20 buns to us each time they visit. Definitely a mom and pop shop. Cash is preferred. The males are so friendly. Call at least an hour ahead for for a big order. Don't call too far ahead for buns; baked goods may not taste so fresh (we had a birthday cake and an order of buns that tasted like cigarette smoke, separate times). Prices are the best! Lower priced than Sweet Hut, Paris Bakery and others. So, try to pay cash to offset their debit/credit cards fees.
Better prices and service than Sweet Hut. The gentleman who served me was incredibly kind and helpful. The pastries are all great, as well!
Awesome buns and wife cookies. Very friendly

The coconut bun and egg tart is the best in Atlanta.
Great pastries. Small little bakery near the corner of asian square but they have the best pastries.
My favorite bakery store in Asian Square on Buford Hwy.
This was the very 1st Asian bakery I've been to. The lady helped me pick out these delicious pastries. I forgot what they're called but they taste so yummy! The bakery is tiny but there are so many options!
It doesn't get more mom-and-pop than this. Hong Kong bakery was one of the first, if not the first, Asian bakeries in the Southeast. I was able to visit and get a behind-the-scenes tour with the We Love BuHi group hey got to learn a little bit about the owner and his shop. Everything sold here is made by hand with absolutely no mixes. The shop does custom cakes as well as many baked goodies like egg tarts, pork buns, and crean buns. (Just thinking about those pork and cream buns stir up my cravings!) The owner's mom sometimes helps out with the cashier and such, and many of the clientele are OG men from Hong Kong. So you know it's legit.
