Shanghai Soup Dumplings and hot tea are a perfect meal. There can be a wait because of their popularity but you'll be seated quickly. Parking is plentiful around the back of the building. Their fried rice dishes are fantastic, too.

We were visiting my niece in Atlanta and she had heard so many good things about this place. I can’t give it more than ten stars but would if I could.l!! The food is the best (we all agreed best Chinese we have ever had). Ordered the hot and sour soup (will feed five people), the shrimp and pork dumplings (literally 💯) and the kung pao shrimp (delicious). Our waitress Alisia was amazing. Can’t wait to come back and highly highly highly recommend Northern China Eatery.

The steamed pork and chive dumplings were delicious, and so was the soybean noodles. The people running the place were friendly and caring, and the inside felt old-school.

Run don’t walk!! Homemade handmade everything!! The food came out smoking hot and full of flavor. It’s tucked back in the cut but there was a wait on a Sunday night. Delicious food and I’ll be back and bring friends!

Why four stars in that five? Well I know some people will go into this basement restaurant and get a little skeeved out.
It can come across as a little rugged but that’s exactly why I’m here… The food has always been fantastic. The service has always been gracious and even fun.
But when you pull into the bottom parking lot, you can see straight into the kitchen and sometimes there is prep work happening just outside
I want people that find that troublesome to be aware and don’t come here if you’re gonna be a troublemaker
The people that run this restaurant are beautiful and they make delicious Delicious food.

First time visiting Northern China Eatery. It was a painful experience. 4 of us ordered 4 different dishes. They were delivered one at a time painfully slow. By 45 mins after our 1st dish arrived, we were still waiting for the final 4th dish. Everything on our table already cold and we totally lost our appetite. We left without finishing any of our 3 dishes and we rejected/canceled the 4th dish.
Our first dish was the classic Northern Chinese dumplings. They were very salty. As a Chinese, I would rate them 2 out of 10.
Our 2nd dish was stir fly green beans. Again it is salty. I would rated it 3 out of 10.
Our 3rd dish is a smoked chicken. The size of the whole chicken was small. Just think of it as 1/3 to 1/2 of the size of a typical Costco rotisserie chicken. It was fairly dry, and not tasty at all. I would rate 3 out of 10 for the smoked chicken.

There's usually someone's Grandma hand-making buns, bao, dumplings, etc in the corner of the restaurant. That's pretty much all you need to know.
