modern and clean environment with a fantastic build-your-own hotpot experience. I highly recommend trying the purple black rice noodles!

've been craving mala for a hot minute, and this place was the closest one that I've heard lots of good things about. I tried taking pictures of the variety of noodles, vegetables, and meats they had- fairly diverse and to pick from. They didn't have frog legs, but had pork intestine, pork belly, beef, lamb, and other stuff I pictured. It was $13.99 per lb, includes this sauce and water stand, and has plenty of seating and free parking in the lot. Service was quick and kind, you pay after eating the meal. They have free wifi here too.
For my soup, I got the classical herbal beef bone broth at a level 2 for mild spicy. I wasn't sure if I should get the medium spicy, but next time I will because this was ordinary spice. The broth wasn't soupy and was kind of thick, with great flavor. I took the rest of it home, will come back to try the dry mala and more spicy!
The best Malatang place in Town! Service is excellent and tasty! Thank you!

The food was good, but I was expecting it to be a place where I can eat without a server bothering me. The one I went to in Los Angeles was self service and then you just sit anywhere. It’s also like, what would I need a server for? It just seems very unnecessary

This was our first time here, and we were glad someone walked us through how it works. It’s mostly self-serve—select what you want from the buffet (protein, noodles, veggies), and they weigh it to figure out the price. Then you pick a broth or dry seasoning, and they cook it for you and bring it to the table. The service was friendly, and the whole thing was simple and affordable. A great spot if you’re in the mood for hot pot without all the extra fuss.
The food is good but they get rude if you don’t tip enough.

Really fun DIY hot pot, also the format cuts down on food waste! Flavors are amazing as old or spicy as you want with all kinds of ingredients to try. Service super friendly and attentive, plenty of cafe style seating for your quick hot pot fix!

I really liked the broth for this malatang. I always go to the duluth yintang restaurant but i think ygf was cheaper and tastier so i will start making the longer commute to eat here instead 👍

The food is decent, but I’ve had a really bad experience with the service every time I’ve been there. One time, they gave us the wrong food and were rude to me when I was just waiting for it. The customer service is terrible. I wanted to pay cash, but the cashier seems unhappy and gives me an attitude, saying it’s better to pay with a card and that I if you don’t have enough money to pay for the food, but why don’t you pay for the tip?

The food at Yang Guo Fu is really delicious and the environment is nice and clean. However, I had a disappointing experience once. I arrived at 9:30 PM (they close at 10), and I had even called ahead to make sure it was okay to dine in. But once I got there, every staff member told me it was too late and pressured me to take my food to go. It made me feel very unwelcome, even though I came within business hours. I hope the management can improve this.

Food is okay but doesn’t really worth it when there is such long wait.
