've been craving mala for a hot minute, and this place was the closest one that I've heard lots of good things about. I tried taking pictures of the variety of noodles, vegetables, and meats they had- fairly diverse and to pick from. They didn't have frog legs, but had pork intestine, pork belly, beef, lamb, and other stuff I pictured. It was $13.99 per lb, includes this sauce and water stand, and has plenty of seating and free parking in the lot. Service was quick...
The food was good, but I was expecting it to be a place where I can eat without a server bothering me. The one I went to in Los Angeles was self service and then you just sit anywhere. It’s also like, what would I need a server for? It just seems very unnecessary
This was our first time here, and we were glad someone walked us through how it works. It’s mostly self-serve—select what you want from the buffet (protein, noodles, veggies), and they weigh it to figure out the price. Then you pick a broth or dry seasoning, and they cook it for you and bring it to the table. The service was friendly, and the whole thing was simple and affordable. A great spot if you’re in the mood for hot pot without all the extra fuss.
