The food was so good and the service was great too. Next time I'm in Douglas I will be eating there again.

We stopped here by chance when doing some shopping in Douglas and decided to have lunch. The staff was very nice and the food was delicious with good size portions. The three of us had all different meals and absolutely no complaints with any of it. The cafe is attached to a gift shop that was decorated with lots of Christmas decorations. Definitely a worthwhile stop for lunch.

I was part of a group who had planned a luncheon at J&D. Our reservation was for 11 people who had said they would be attending. It ended up that only five showed up. When we told the server that it looked like no one else was going to show up, she very curtly told us that the next time we needed to make a reservation for the number who were going to be there. I told her that was what we did and that we couldn’t control who actually showed up. She continued to argue with me for several minutes saying things like they had had to move tables around to accommodate us and something about them setting aside two servers. I would have understood more if the place had been very busy, but the cafe wasn’t even half full. I have been to J&D’s several times, even having several group luncheons there, and have always had decent service, but being chastised by the server for something that was out of my control has put a bad taste in my mouth and I will not be returning.

The restaurant closes at 2pm my party got there at 1:47pm and they still served us with a smile. Food was absolutely amazing. Friendly staff. Recommend.

Chicken nugget plate was very good oh my God it's all homemade chicken salad sandwiches was really good and we had fried green tomatoes our waitress was very sweet and on point.

Food has gotten stale menu needs updating and more choices in proteins. I know if you do something excellent, don't change it well. In this case, I would revamp the entire menu. When they started, it was new and innovative. Now, it's old and dull. It's not worth the money.

I enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant/cafe/boutique. The menu was interesting and expansive...and I love that they have mimosas. Food came out really quickly and was good but needed a bit of seasoning. While food was quick and hot...our appetizers, soup, salad, and entrees all came out together which made the table really crowded and made i difficult to eat everything while it was still at an optimal temperature. Service we received could have been much better. It was difficult to get salt, pepper, hot sauce, extra napkins, refills, and attention in general from any of the staff or servers. I would definitely come back again but hope service will be a bit better.
