What a great “greasy-spoon” diner. All of your country breakfast favorites are here. I’ve eaten there twice in order to make this review.I ate lunch both times, getting breakfast food, and service was fast and friendly. Great service. Plenty of seating. The food was great. I loved the biscuits. The sausage gravy is peppery, which I like. I had the grits, for the first time in about 40 years, and I still don’t get it. LOTS of people there were enjoying the grits, so I’m guessing they are good.I’ll certainly be eating at the Bankhead Diner anytime I’m in the area. Thanks for the great meals!

Our waitress wasn’t friendly. I ordered a breakfast with bacon. It was under cooked , almost raw. Our. Waitress never came back to check on us or leave a ticket. There was only 4 other tables of people and one guy at the bar.We went to counter to pay and a lady asked how was our meals. I told her my bacon was under cooked, she asked it I wanted her to remove it from the tab. I said yes. She went and had a meeting with the other 2 waitresses and came back and said she will remove it. I told her I’ll feed it to my dog. She said if I take the raw bacon she would need to charge for it.I left it with her.I have eaten there many times. I’m not sure about going back anytime soon.We have had the same waitress several times and she is always having a bad day.

Classic hometown Southern diner. The food is always good and the servers are friendly and attentive. My favorite Douglasville breakfast spot, I've been coming here for at least 20 years. Love the biscuits and gravy!

I have used Bankhead Diner to cater two events at the church - a Holiday Concert & Luncheon in December and a Lunch-n-Learn on The Holy Land. The food was a hit each time!!! Blake Guy does a phenomenal job with the food. He brings the food and helps set it out. He is a full service caterer. The food is delicious and the fried okra is out of this world!!! Twice his okra has gotten the best compliment from two different men - “his okra makes me think of my grandma’s okra.”Blake is always thinking about the customer who is going to be eating the food - it is hearty, warm, and incredibly delicious. He also adds bread so that there are biscuits AND cornbread. And to top off a Luncheon, Blake personality makes peach cobbler is hot and rich and heavenly. You have to brush the angels away to get to it. The first time I served it it was gone in minutes and not everyone got up to it in time to get some - not because he failed to make enough, it was because people couldn’t help themselves. The second time I served it I added some vanilla bean ice cream to slow down the people taking all of it. It is SO good.Blake is responsive, he knows how to put a meal together that will not just fill a tummy, it create enjoyment around the food.I’ve already decided that he will be getting all of my catering orders in the future. You owe it to your luncheon or dinner to try him out!Robin

This is a GREAT diner and a most visit. Samantha was our server, she was prompt, polite, and friendly. Food was your typical diner food, and came out hot and as ordered. Pricing was excellent for food portions.Dietary restrictions: One member of our party had a gluten restriction. No issues in getting him what he could eat safely.

Service is usually pretty good. (Only reason I even try and come back at all). Food used to be real good but has gone downhill over the last 1-2 years to the point where I'd rather starve then come back. Cold eggs, burnt meat, and the manager gets an attitude when you try and complain about anything. Hard pass. I feel sorry for the servers having to deal with that.

Went in for a late breakfast with the kids and seeing that they closed at 2pm I assumed that meant breakfast would be served throughout. Unfortunately, I found out they stopped serving breakfast at noon at 12:04pm. Left to go elsewhere, and as I didn't eat any food I cannot advise upon that. Everyone was very polite, but I hope this review helps someone else down the road.

Where do I start? Very lovely local diner where the food is nice, the diner itself is cozy and welcoming and the people are kind. Whoever that caylee girl was who served did phenomenal and was very welcoming. I will be back to spend more money ?
