The food here is absolutely AMAZING!!! We ordered the chicken wing platter and fried shrimp platter with sides of green beans, candied yams, fried okra, smack n cheese, with grid green tomatoes as the appetizer. Every bite took us to another dimension and was full of so much flavor! You can tell they cook with love in every plate and they provided the great service to match.

Can’t wait to come back!

Totally unhappy with the service. Food was good, however, we had to keep reminding the waitress about our complete order. Forgot the cutlery and then it was the tea. Tried serving us tea in a metal cup. Both the waiter and the waitress struggled to carry the tea because naturally the metal cup was extremely hot. A matter of fact they were only able to carry the cup using a towel. After my complaint, the attitude we received was totally unprofessional. Atmosphere was good service was a zero.

This restaurant has good food but the service is not good. I've tried to support them a few times because it is a black owned business but I see they don't respect money or me being a customer. I bought the fried fish breakfast and they didn't give me my biscuit. I ordered the shrimp and grits. The menu clearly says that it comes with six shrimp. I was only given five shrimp then the cook had the nerve to act offended because I wanted my sixth shrimp. He was even sarcastic about it.It doesn't matter if it's only one shrimp, I spent my money so give me what I ask a for. The first time I went there, I ordered the fried fish breakfast and he gave me the smallest piece of fish he had. It wasn't even a whole piece. I tried to thank my him for their service, it acted like he didn't even want to talk to me. It doesn't matter how good the food is, you have to be professional and act like you care because I don't have spend a dime with you. The food is good but not good enough for me to give my money to people who don't respect our appreciate me being a customer. They don't even smile at you when come through the door. It's the same stuff everywhere you go.

My wife went here on Black Friday and had a fish sandwich that she raved about. Today, 12/4/25, we decided to order through DoorDash this evening. I got the Grilled Beef Brisket Sausage which mentions burnt ends in the description. My vision was a sausage on a hoagie with beef brisket burnt ends on top based on the description. What I got was a $24 hotdog. I called and they said that’s what it was. We’ll try this place again but I think this description could be better. Please see images.

I’ve been to The Kitchen a few times before this experience and enjoyed my experience and the food but this time I am really disappointed. I ordered a “B.L.T.” Online but what I received was a fried bologna sandwich with wilted lettuce on it. I called and they explained that their BLT is a Bologna Lettuce and Tomato sandwich but that wasn’t specified online at all. This was a $13 meal with tax… but very poorly made. I hope that this review reaches management and that they can make adjustments in the future.

Chicken was cooked in old grease. Mac & Cheese was dry. Owner was there and did not try to help busy waitress. Also, the owner only spoke to “certain” customers.

OMG! Food was DELICIOUS! Some of the best pancakes I’ve ever had! Salmon patties reminded me of Grandma’s house. Grits, breakfast potatoes, and flounder were very good as well. Will definitely be back whenever in Douglasville! Sorry no pics of Salmon. Couldn’t help myself when the plate hit the table.

Hands down the best Mac and chz around! I am a vegetarian and love cheese! They do not disappoint! My kids had the Smash Burger with Bacon and Chz. My son finished before I could ask if it was good! A nice little duck off place with some smiling warm charm! Check em out!
