Pastry grocery quality out of box , coffee taste no better than the room coffee in courtyard cross street
Nice shop quality deco, they should pay more attention on food and coffee

Coffee had cocoa and nutty notes. The cafe itself is pretty small with limited seating. Service was very slow. My coffee was served warm.
We like to go here, especially early mornings. Lovely little place! Good coffee, albeit a little cooler by the time you get it.
Also, feels like a library when you get in. Good for getting some work done. But not so good if you have to come with kids. You can always take them out to see the city hall park next door.

Made the best cappuccino I had in a long time.
I’ve been coming to Break since they opened almost 6 years ago, and it’s my favorite coffee shop. The Duluth and Lawrenceville locations are both beautiful and cozy; the Lawrenceville shop is a little bigger if you like more elbow room. Everything is so thoughtfully designed and intentional. The coffee is quality and tastes so good. They do fun seasonal menus with some classics and some unique originals. They recently started making their own pastries, and the s’mores poptart they have right now is exactly what I needed. The baristas are so friendly and remember my usual order when I come in. Definitely check it out if you’re around Duluth or Lawrenceville!

VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! We saw this coffee shop across from our hotel and we were initially excited to try it. But this morning that excitement quickly diminished to disappointment after my husband walked over this morning to grab us coffee and he ordered me a vanilla latte but it was clearly a mocha that was made by mistake and I can’t do anything mocha/chocolate. I walked back over to make them aware and asked for a caramel or vanilla latte instead and he (the employee) asked if he could see the drink, clearly still full, he verified that it was indeed too dark to be vanilla so I told him that my husband ordered vanilla and he began to ring me up for another coffee so I was a bit shocked and I initially started to pay another $8 but I thought surely I won’t have to pay for another coffee after the first coffee was made incorrectly. So I asked him if I had to pay for another coffee since they made the mistake and made me a mocha and my husband ordered a vanilla. He even asked for my husband’s name and he said he remembered him coming in and ordering. So I said to him “do I have to pay for another coffee even though you got my order wrong?” and he smiled and said “yes if you would please” and I proceeded to close my wallet and I told him “no thank you I shouldn’t have to pay again for something you all got wrong” & I walked out and it appeared he could not care any less about trying to make it right. Unfortunately, I received very poor customer service from the staff member/employee who looked to be of middle eastern descent and he was also the very same person who prepared my coffee earlier with the wrong ingredients but wanted to charge me for “his” mistake…therefore my 8 other family members decided not to patronize this establishment and purchased coffee from the hotel instead.

My favorite coffee shop in Gwinnett. Between the two locations, you have the flexibility to pick which one you’re closer to. Staff is always friendly, vibes are high, and coffee hits. Would recommend!

My favorite coffee shop! I love the natural lighting and surrounding plants, and it even has nice outdoor seating overlooking the Duluth city center. Also a great study spot if you are in school. You can tell their beans are freshly roasted and I usually get the cortado which has a natural nutty sweetness. Everyone is so friendly as well, definitely worth the visit!

We were in town from another state for a family wedding and on our last day in town, our family brought us to Break in Duluth because they love local coffee shops and were excited to show us the adorable downtown Duluth area. The staff member who took our orders seemed less than thrilled to even be breathing, let alone working that day. We didn’t think anything of it, as we have all had bad days before. We collected our orders after a decent wait and snagged a table outside. The food was just ok. The muffin I ordered was very dry and the others said their items were really greasy and lackluster. Our coffees were ok, but I felt like the latte I had lacked in the flavor of the coffee itself. After a few minutes of sitting outside, a staff member approached my aunt and said that another staff member inside told him that my aunt had taken a bag of beans without paying for them and asked if she had them. She, of course, did not have them and had not taken them. The staff member confirmed again verbally that she did not have them, of which she said no and he said “ok, I believe you” and went back inside. It was really embarrassing for everyone involved. There were 8 of us and a table of three others just behind us that I’m sure heard the whole thing. We didn’t want it to ruin our day since it was the last day for us to be together before three of us went back home to another state, so we stayed to finish our coffee and food, and even went inside to finish when our table got swarmed by yellow jackets. However, the situation was lurking in the back of our minds the rest of the day. We’re unsure which staff member inside made the erroneous accusation, but if we were placing bets, all of our money was on the person who took our orders since she had an attitude and seemed miserable. Again, we don’t know if it was her. The whole thing left a bad impression on all of us and I for sure wouldn’t go back the next time I am in town. I am fairly certain my family who is local won’t be back either, but maybe they are more forgiving. Everyone makes mistakes, but I feel in business you should absolutely be sure before you accuse someone of stealing and embarrass them in front of everyone.
