Excellent service great drinks always on point

My family has come here for years but recently it has gone from bad to worse the food at our last visit was so terrible it will certainly be our last, the food tasted old or had no good flavor.

I have been eating at El Porton for over 15 years now, and I'm still receiving the same exceptionally food, service, and atmosphere(they remodeled the restaurant too, and it looks very nice. Perfect for date night, family and more!!! Large food portions as well.

Chili relino lunch and iced tea. Lots of cheese and beef just as I like it. Beans and rice sides are both flavorful and plentiful. Tasty chips and salsa. Chili was a little over salted, but it was cooked correctly and very tasty. Good value for the money.

We have lived in Duluth since 1998. We have visited this location many many times over the years. More so in recent years. There are wait staff who have been there a very long time. Three older ladies imparticular. One seems to be a hostess, one is a waitress, one is a busser/hostess. I have learned to not make eye contact with them anymore. In fast food this same trend has emerged locally. I don't know why these women think they can be so unfriendly. The salsa at el porton has become really spicy. we asked for a milder one, and they looked at me like I was crazy. Hey, I like some heat, but dang. For a typical table salsa its just not appropriate. I feel this location has become too set in their ways. I will not spend another $ here. Tonight ( a Monday) my mom tried to call in a large order for our family. They would not answer the phone, and made her wait 45 min at the bar. if it were dine in, it wouldnt have been that long. You guys have lots of competition I would suggest being more friendly. Alternatives that are way better are: Pepe's at sugarloaf mills, and Frontera Duluth. We will drive 5 more miles for much better service, and a salsa that is edible.

I ordered nachos and they barely gave me anything. Also there were just large thick slices of tomato in it? If you want nachos don’t get them from here and get more bang for your buck elsewhere.
