I finally tried hot pot, and it was amazing! They have a halal menu, you just gotta ask, and a whole section for sauce(which i LOVE). Definitely recommend coming to try.

We love this hot pot place! All the vegetables and beef were fresh. We ordered the #1 angus beef hot pot with bone broth base and a side of udon and shrimp paste. Everything came out quickly and there was more than enough food. The sauce area was full of options. We love eating all the vegetables and meat first, then having them add more broth for the udon noodles and egg for a tasty leftover udon noodle soup. Delicious spot and very filling!

there was hair in our foods, it wasn’t tasty that much, their policies made each customer supposed to pay at least $25 regardless of the food amount, they forced us to tip but tip is a culture not a compulsory isn’t it?

Tricky to decide how many stars to give this place. On one hand, the food is fine. I’ve had better hot pot but no big complaints. On the other hand, our experience was harried and we’d likely never come back. A big part of that was caused by a $20 minimum per person: 1. The highest minimum I’ve ever experienced 2. Requires you to get quite a bit more food than anyone in our party was able to finish (and you can’t easily bring home leftover hot pot) 3. This minimum wasn’t clearly advertised anywhere we were able to see it. Perhaps we missed a notice somewhere, but instead we got to struggle through an awkward drawn out back-and-forth with our waitress while dealing with a pretty significant language barrier. In what I assume was an attempt to compensate for this rocky start, the waitress proceeded to actually watch us eat and tried to help us with things we weren’t struggling with for probably a good 5-10 minutes after we got our food. What the? We tried to make the most of it, but it just was not a fun way to start a meal. The food was fine and we enjoyed the amount we were able to eat, but we have a hard time wasting food so yeah we ate too much which further sullied the experience. I’m sure patrons with different attributes than myself could really love this place, but for me it was a really poor experience.

If you're a first-timer for Hot Pot, I think J's is the perfect place to start. The menu may seem overwhelming, but the staff are very kind and will gladly explain everything to you. You can order your set of ingredients (usually the type of meat, plus a set of noodles, egg, and an assortment of vegetables) that comes nicely put together for you and eliminates too much decision you may face at other places. As this is Mini, it's your own portion, and you can add what you'd like to your own soup. The ingredients are great in variety, and it's certainly a large portion. There is an option to do it à la carte, however this can quickly get expensive with the way their menu is set up. The atmosphere was very nice, we did not feel rushed, and everything tasted amazing, with the addition of their spice/sauce bar. I recommend this to anyone looking to try Hot Pot for the first time!
