JL Dumpling House

This restaurant owner comes across as friendly, but in reality he’s incredibly two-faced. He uses his status as an old-timer immigrant to act like he’s doing you a favor, but he has no problem intimidating customers. He even goes as far as making verbal threats and saying he’ll “do everything he can” to get people locked up.
And those two five-star reviews? Probably the most clueless marketing plants I’ve ever seen.
It’s funny — running a restaurant in the U.S., yet both reviews keep bringing up his “Nanjing roots” instead of talking about the actual service. He barely shows anything about who he is. Honestly, it just shows a pretty low level of awareness.因为这家店铺老板，没有边界感，做了不好的事情，会反噬的，希望可以一心向善！

We had such a great experience at JL Dumpling House! The owner, Jack, invited us to try their new menu item, and it was absolutely delicious. Chocolate Dumplings😍

Our server, Lilly, was so welcoming and kind, making the whole visit even more special. Amazing service, amazing food. this place always leaves us smiling and coming back for more!

The best soup dumplings!!!!
If you're a soup dumpling lover like me, run....don't walk here. We got the pork & crab and chicken dumplings, both came out hot and had tons of soup inside. Service was super fast and friendly. Our server came to check on us multiple times and made us feel so well taken care of. Everything we ordered was delicious and the flavors were authentic. Even my hard to please immigrant parents liked it. We will definitely be back!

My husband and I visited today (02/22), and unfortunately my experience was disappointing.

The good: The restaurant is big and spacious, the atmosphere is nice, and the bathrooms looked clean.

The food: We ordered the famous soup dumplings. They were fine,decent flavor, but nothing stood out compared to other dumpling restaurants. The stir-fried string beans were very oily and not spicy at all, even though the menu describes the dish as spicy.

The biggest disappointment was the beef brisket noodle soup. The noodles were clumped together and sticky, as if they had been defrosted and not properly prepared. Also, the dish is called beef brisket, but I only received about five small pieces of meat. The broth itself had good flavor, but I couldn’t enjoy it because of the texture of the noodles.

Service issue: My husband ordered the pickle chili seabass, but it never arrived. We waited a long time. A staff member checked on us and said they would ask the kitchen, but no one followed up. After waiting even longer, we asked again and decided to cancel the dish since we had already finished the rest of the meal.

Overall, the food was not worth the prices in our opinion. Based on our experience with authentic Chinese cuisine, the flavors and preparation did not feel traditional. We also noticed that most of the customers were not Chinese, which further suggested to us that the restaurant may be more adapted to a general audience rather than offering a truly authentic experience. We left disappointed.

We got soup dumplings chicken and pork, and scallion oil pancake. The soup dumplings were very flavorful and fun to bite into. The scallion pancake was crispy on the outside and warm when you bite into it. The food was delicious. We just wished we knew how to order. Which is like family style so you order main dishes, vegetables, and sides. And then you all share them. They made dumplings in the front so you could see someone make dumplings as you eat which is pretty cool.
