K-Mom’s Kitchen feels less like eating out and more like being welcomed into someone’s home. The flavors instantly reminded me of my mom’s cooking and even more so, my grandmother’s. The main dishes are comforting and well done, but what truly makes this place special are the side dishes. That generous spread of banchan, paired with a small bowl of warm seaweed soup, is what gives the meal its soul.
It’s a true hole-in-the-wall spot, cozy, humble, and full of heart with limited seating inside, but that just adds to the authenticity. This is the kind of food that carries history and care in every bite. If you’re looking for Korean food that tastes like it was made for family, this is the place. Highly recommend.

Wow. The food is incredibly delicious with such a clean, comforting flavor. True Jeolla-style home cooking. It tastes like homemade food, but elevated and beautifully done. The brass plates make everything feel so classy, and every side dish is serious 밥도둑. We will definitely be back.

Mom Kitchen in Duluth (a.k.a. K‑Mom's Kitchen - 엄마밥상) is a true hidden gem celebrated for bringing authentic Korean home‑cooking to the area--think of it as a warm hug from mom, plated with love and care . Here's what makes it so special:
Authentic Home‑Cooked Flavors
A small, carefully curated menu (~10-13 dishes) ensures each item is made thoughtfully, from traditional kimchi stew to perfectly grilled fish. Reviewers consistently describe the food as reminiscent of mom's cooking--real, comforting, and unpretentious .
Owners avoid over‑seasoning with excess salt, staying true to authentic flavors. Banchans ... made with care.
Cozy, Inviting Setting & Hospitality
The atmosphere is intimate, with just about 10 tables in a clean, welcoming space.
Service is warm and personal-- where you feel like family.
Owners are often present, chatting with customers, serving dishes (like prepped bibimbap), and even topping up banchans--creating a community atmosphere.
Generous Banchan & Portions
You get up to 10 side dishes (banchans)--a level of variety uncommon in small spots .
Sides are replenished freely-- won't let you leave hungry.

Cozy small, thank goodness, I had a Korean group with me to translate.
Food was good and reasonably priced, but the customer service was honestly terrible. I don’t know how they manage to stay open in a place where people actually value good service. The lady who served us never checked on our table, didn’t refill our water, and didn’t ask how the food was. When we asked to pack our leftovers, she told us we couldn’t take the side dishes to go — which makes no sense, since they’re part of the meal! I’ve never been to a restaurant that doesn’t allow customers to take leftover sides home.

Mediocre - This place does provide Korean homemade-style meals, and while it has potential, I don't find anything special enough to bring me back.

Excellent restaurant! If you are interested in experience a meal that truly mimics healthy home-cooked Korean cuisine, this is the place!
This is not one of those places with huge fanfare and exorbitant overwhelming decorations, often with asymmetric balance of tasted. Rather, this is a modest place but with dedication and thoughts for the fundamentals of Korean home cuisine that you can feel from the manner of the owner and certainly taste it in the dishes she serves (mains and the sides) - no sugar (unlike many restaurants all around), no MSG, or any other artificial favorings - relying on natural flavors of quality ingredients. Even then, the subtle balance of complex tastes of various ingredients and of Korean cuisine is achieved, reminding of the comfort and care we felt from our own mom's cooking long ago.
This place is not one of those that has shallow business/value ethics, again unlike other places, where she seems very generous with amount of quality ingredients in the dishes! My dish was the black cod soup. It had about the same amount of fish as the black cod casserole (at 2x the price) we had at another local restaurant!
Really, the owner has a clear set of principles for cooking and life in general, truly reflected in every facet of her restaurant! Truly commendable person and place!
I/we will certainly return to try other dishes!

Small restaurant that gives that you're coming back home for a visit after having been away for awhile kind of feeling. The menu is a simple one and our favorite is the Spicy Chicken and Potato Stew (Dak Bokk-Eum-Tang). Perhaps the secret is in its simplicity, but man does it hit the spot on a cold dreary rainy day after a rough week at work. Comfort food for sure. The side dishes here are top notch too. You can see and taste the love they put into their side dishes. So good, looking forward to eating here again and again.

This place is definitely my favorite Korean restaurant in Duluth! I love how much banchan they give you and they even provide a free seaweed soup! The entrees always taste delicious and are definitely to my style. A hidden gem for sure!

5/5 Read Below:
As an white male in his 60’ married to a Korean from Suwon who has eaten at thousands of Korean restaurants, from the east coast to west coast of the US, as well as South Korea, the restaurant is 5/5 start.
Keeping that in mind, it doesn’t have the biggest menu, usually just the owner running around and handling all the tables.
It a value priced menu for the basics in Korean food, nothing more and that’s ok.
If you want a diversified menu , with people waiting on you hand and foot, this isn’t the place for you.
If you want the BEST Korean food , this is not the place for you.
I would gladly go back if I wanted a good basic Korean meal, nor if you want kimchi pancake, rice or a diversified and massive menu.
Everyone should know what the restaurant offers before eating and complaining!
Bull was less than $50 versus our usual $125 for 2!!

Mom and pop’s kind of a restaurant with quality meals. It does not have too many items on the menu but that is what keeps the quality high. It’s the kind of food grandma’s make for you at home.

I should have read the 1 star reviews earlier because they were true. Our server was an older Korean lady who was really rude. We could clearly tell by the way she was treating other customers. She was also rushing us to order when the other tables were already settled.
Service: 1
They clearly say they close at 9. When I got there, the employee said they were closed. They said they close at 9 but they only take orders until 8, but when I got there it was exactly 7:53 and the open sign was still on. I couldn't believe what kind of customer service they had.
