Best Coffee Cured 10oz Filet!!! I’ve been eating here for about 30 yrs & they have remained my top choice for steaks! Their crab cakes are on point, dinner rolls are delicious, & drinks are fantastic!

I've dined at Stoney River Duluth location about a dozen times before and this has to be one of the unfortunate experiences I have had. We were a party of 6 and was celebrating my son's 19th birthday with family and friends. We were seated quickly after arriving and immediately, I noticed the menu seamed smaller. The menu was already on the table under the side plate. Our server, a tall African American gentleman, was our server on this evening 10/10/2024. I forgot his name, but after a few subtle hints in service, he was either new to his job or just way too busy. He introduced himself and took our drink orders. We ordered apps, Shrimp cocktail and ahi tuna stack. Both came out quickly, even before we received our drinks and water, which was unusual. But I just went with the flow and had the apps, which were good. But he did not bring us any share plates for the apps.
We just used our side plate for the apps. It took a while after we received our apps, for my wife to get her glass of wine. After we had our apps, our server came back to take our entree orders. I was waiting for a busser or the server to come and clear our side plates and bring us fresh, clean side plates, which never happened. I received our salad, which I was sharing, which I mentioned to our server when he took the order, but did not bring us new side plates. He came and cleared out side plates finally and started to mark the tables with new forks and then came back with steak knives. Our server also forgot my wife's salad, which was never put in, but he was able to get it on the fly. Our entrees came out and If I remember when I last visited a few months back, the entree plates were hot plates, sizzling, but when I got my prime rib, I knew it was different. The prime rib was luke warm, I ordered it medium, came out medium rare. Our son's friend's NY Steak, he ordered it med, came out medium rare. Had to send back. The restaurant manager did come by and replace his entree, quickly. It just was not a good experience. The prime rib, flavor, was just ok. I am not sure if I would come back, as it seems as though the experience and food quality is gone. As a hospitality professional, I never like to send food back, unless it's completely inedible, or incorrect. I hope this was a one off experience.

Took my better half here for his Birthday! ( mind you we live in Douglasville and it was ABSOLULEY worth the drive) We started at the bar and grabbed a drink until our reservation time. ( I had a Lemon drop Pineapple Mojito and He had a Bipo Beer) Then we were sat at our table. Had a super awesome server ( so sorry i forgot to write down your name) We started off with a wedge and a French onion soup. We ate about half and the just swapped rather than reaching back and forth over the table!
I got the coffee Filet with the whipped mash potatoes, He got the special - Horseradish Filet, with the au gratin potatoes. The horse radish had juuuust enough kick to taste good without lighting your sinuses on fire. We also got the broccoli, and the gouda mac n cheese to share. The steaks came out perfectly cooked, and sliced like a hot knife through butter. The Broccoli has a garlic butter on it that was delicious. The whipped potatoes were the winner between them and the au gratin ( but still tasty) The mac and cheese had a nice crunch on the top, i cant put my finger on what it needed? salt maybe? but was still yummy. They boxed up the sides for us, and then brought us out 2 glasses of champagne and Crème Brule with candles in it! Good thing we found room in our dessert shelves to eat it, it was smnooth and creamy with a perfect Brule'd crust. We were SO beyond full at that point we went to walk around target. This place is most definitely worth the trip and the money. The service is attentive but not over bearing. Made for quite the birthday experience!

The brunch menu is limited and I don’t give you a lot for the price. The food quality wasn’t that good the atmosphere it wasn’t that good I definitely would not recommend this for a brunch spot steakhouse maybe but not a brunch spot.

We come to Stoney River when we want good food and atmosphere for our date nights and other special occasions. From the rolls and butter, to the deviled eggs and prime rib. Every time, amazing tasting food, no matter what we decide to try. Our server Tyler was very attentive, but we've always had great service at Stoney River. We took away 1 star because of the atmosphere. It has been much to be desired, lately. The other night was the second time we've been there in the past few months and our vibe was disturbed by how loud it gets. Not even the music is nice anymore. It used to be jazz playing, which is way more appropriate for $50 plates and ambiance. There must be a new manager there now, tall and thin and LOUD. He has a nice smile, and is very pleasant, but then he went back around the staff and just yelled a bunch of demands and other restaurant jargon. We heard him from across the restaurant. Not to mention a server getting yelled at and completely humiliated right in the middle of the dining room close to our table. She and the manager handled the disgruntled man with poise and grace. If you want great food and service, Stoney River hits. But, if you don't want to hear screaming managers and horrible music choices, I don't recommend going to Stoney River Duluth.

I dined at one of my favorite steakhouses on Sunday, August 11th, expecting another great experience. Unfortunately, the evening took a turn for the worse due to the behavior of the manager on duty. He gave us a hard time and confronted my friend, making it seem like it was his fault for the wrong order. His attitude was condescending, treating us like we were a bunch of kids.

When we asked to speak with the supervisor, he claimed, “I’m the manager and the supervisor,” which turned out to be a lie. A respectful lady later approached our table, introducing herself as the actual supervisor. By this point, we were furious and ready to leave. However, the supervisor was clearly well-trained in handling situations like this and managed to clarify everything.

The server was also very respectful, and we had no issues with them. The only complaint I have is about the rude manager. Customers should never be treated like this. Besides the manager’s behavior.

We went for a girls night out, the young ladies at the door were friendly and welcoming. Our server Sydney came highly recommended as the best server at Stoney. She lived up to her recommendation! She was warm, friendly, patient, attentive and was very knowledgeable about the drink and food menu. Sydney helped to make our girls outting a success. We recommend you request Sydney on your next visit.
