Food came out fast. Staff was nice from there things went down hill fast rice and beans taste like they got them from a can. Pork was dry and the salsa was foul tasted like Texas Pete's red hot with tomato sauce.$19 for a water 3 pork tacos beans and rice. Needless to say I won't be back.

Hope this is not duplicate..hit back button. We love El Rey and have been coming here for quite awhile. Before the move, there were some issues but since then the ingredients are fresh, chips are new and not broken! I won't eat at PG in jasper. El Rey is the o ly Mexican restaurant I will eat at now. I get #18 combo Burrito, Rice, Beans, & beef taco usually and my husband gets 20 wings with sauce on the side. He takes home half for later. We do take out 90% of time due to our schedule. Very good!

I (was) a regular at this restaurant - It was one of my favorites. However, I just had an experience that will make me rethink ever going again. We got one drink and that was it, cause the waitress never came back to fill our drinks after they were emptied. We ordered a large queso. We didn’t finish it, so I asked for a cup to take it home when she brought our check. She brought a cup, but didn’t bring chips.. And like I mentioned, she never came back to our table even though we sat there for a long time hoping she would come by. As we were leaving, I’m visibly holding my $8-10 cup of queso and asked if I could have some chips to take home with it. A lady in a green shirt (must have been a manager since she wasn’t wearing black).. Told me with attitude that I had to PLACE AN ORDER for chips since we were already done eating…… Even though I had already paid for my queso?!?! And my entire meal to begin with?? Keep in mind - They never refilled our drinks and never brought us more chips while we were at the table. I was stunned. What Mexican restaurant doesn’t provide free chips with an order? After I just paid you to eat there… And have always tipped well even with sub par service. This was also an hour and a half before closing so that can’t even be used as an excuse. It’s just beyond poor service.

Very disappointing night at el Rey Aztec. Had 3 hairs in my cold food when it arrived. Server was quite rude, would not recommend
