I cannot rave enough about my family’s experience here! From the food to the service, to the location, everything was top notch! Morgan, our server, was so sweet and helpful, with such a cheerful demeanor. I feel like my family got everything on the menu 😂 and it was all drool worthy quality! The okra with pimento cheese, the chicken bacon flatbread, the grilled cheese with bacon, the fried shrimp, Mac n cheese, sweet potato fries, squash casserole, and last but CERTAINLY not least, that dang honey biscuit with fried chicken 🤤 whew! All to die for. Then, we took some dessert to go because there was no room in our bodies in the moment but we couldn’t leave without the Reese and apple crumble cheesecake and boy were we happy with those decisions as well! The. BEST!
Food was okay. I was disappointed with the Cuban. I know, it's my own fault. I mean a Cuban in the north Georgia mountains? What was I thinking? The staff was friendly and attentive. The place was busy. Guess I'd say go once to experience it. Order better than I did.
Parking: About the parking... Good luck!

A staple when visiting Ellijay! We learned (after we waited) that you can call ahead to get your name on the waitlist.
Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options in Ellijay are not the easiest to find. With cantaberry being a soup, salad, sandwich establishment, it’s easier to find more options than at other restaurants in the area.

The food was amazing and prices are very reasonable! We switched from a different restaurant as the wait was 45 minutes. This restaurant had no wait and our waitress was great. We will be back to try different dishes.

We got there and informed the hostess we had a party of 9 and she said it would take about 30 minutes, so I said it would be fine if they sat us at two separate tables if that would be quicker and the hostess, said no, it would be the same amount of time. So then I asked her how long and she shushed me with her finger and asked me what my name was. So very rude. As this exchange was going on, several tables were leaving and she said it would still be 30 minutes. Then she walked away and another woman, maybe the manager walked over and another table left and she said that we would be seated right away. I told her the other hostess was rude and she said she would definitely take care of us. And, boy did she ever. She put two tables together and we sat down and then we waited for a very long time for a waitress. Another large group came in and they were seated and then attended to and served before us. Once our food finally came, it was cold and it was clear the food had been sitting under a heat lamp for a long time. The buns were hard and the burgers were burnt. The waitress was nice, but it seemed like the whole restaurant was in cahoots. Now, we wait to see if we get food poisoning. We have honestly, never been treated like this in a restaurant before. And, we are nice people and we eat out a lot. The WORST FREEZER BURNT FOOD EVER. So sad an establishment would treat paying customers this way. I only wish I had taken pictures of our food. Disgusting.
Lunch time on Wed. Busy as usual. Server was polite and professional. Ran out of soup we wanted just after they suggested it?? . Also sweet potatoe fries came out brown- black (no kitchen manager) . They were replaced, but why did we even have to put that in our mouths and have burnt flavors? Sandwich was tasty. Offered dessert and enjoyed that. Little tight where we sat as a customer backed his chair into our friend a couple of times . We will be back. Hopefully won’t run out of soup at 12:15 . No photo of burnt fries. Didn’t have phone at time
Parking: Be kind to merchants and don’t park in their frontage to eat. Try to find street parking . Maybe the church (church parking only- ample parking)
could charge a small fee M-F for parking to all merchants and restaurant.

The host was friendly when seating us. As I was sitting down she let the server know that we were there. The server decided to mumble to the host if we knew they were going to close. The sign said open. People were still eating and this continued after coming from the restroom. Instead of asking what we would like to eat they continued griping amongst themselves about us going to an establishment that we frequent. And yes we are local, but we do not advertise this. We wanted a meal and to go home. Instead we got staff that complained in front of the customers that we should know there hours of operation after the host said we were welcome to eat and gave us a table. Unprofessional and sub-par service.
Good food, but I would recommend avoiding it if it looks busy. The kitchen was backed up and several people were upset. We just had a couple of sandwiches and salads along with a cup of soup and we were there over an hour.

Canterberrt has always been one of my favorite restaurants. Their sandwiches are fantastic and the service is usually relatively quick. Their tomato basil soup is where they shine, it’s the best I’ve ever had and I’ve had a lot of tomato soups. If you’re ever in the area, I couldn’t recommend this higher.

While vacationing in Elijay, this restaurant was recommended for lunch. It did not disappoint. The chicken and wild rice soup is delicious.
