The setting is great and so is the staff! The wine has improved since their opening and you can make your own mind up on that, I think it’s average in a good way. The food is definitely the weak link, to say it’s inconsistent would be kind. The chicken on salads is usually dry and chewy, the sandwich bread overpowers the rest of the sandwich, etc. My impression is that their chef places a high priority on prep work and refrigeration, to the detriment of some of the dishes. Order something hot or roll the dice. I rarely waste my time leaving reviews but we so hope the food levels up to match the rest of Roo’s great experience because it’s kind of been like that since day 1.

The winery has such a spectacular atmosphere. We shared a charcuterie board, a salad, and a flatbread—all of which were excellent. I loved the full-bodied white wine recommended by the bartender, while he enjoyed a cider that began with Bosch notes. Everything was amazing, especially with the butterflies fluttering around.

Amazing space, inside and outside and the views are spectacular. Excellent wines and perfect food options. So glad we found this beautiful winery.

It's safe to say my wife and I have been to nearly all of the North Georgia, East Tennessee, and North Carolina vineyards and wineries (with North Georgia being probably being the go-to hotspot east of the Mississippi River). This was our most recent stop after a hiatus, and I can surely tell you Georgia's newest is already one of the best. Roo Mountain Vineyards truly is Napa-ish and Sonoma-ish in class and scale, brought all the way over to the trendy South East wine region. There's so much to see and do here, and the wines were incredible. Props to the men and women who are behind this epic new venue. Keep up the great work! We cannot wait to come back when we have more time to enjoy this wonderful place!

The views and the ambience was great. We were a group of 8 ladies and it was fun. The food is ok, good choices of wine. We did flight of wines, and we're able to swap for other. Example 3 white one red.

Gorgeous place with great views. Order at the bar and then open seating. Patio is dog friendly. The wines were good with some on the pricier side. We got a salad which was really good too. Would recommend!

Roo is the best in Ellijay! Service at Roo is warm and professional. I enjoy that they maintain an adults only policy, which really helps with the overall relaxed vibe.

A few noteworthy things: The view can't be beat, panoramic mountain views for the win. The property is spacious! You really shouldn't run into any space or parking issues. If you do, you should really stop and think what day is it? If it is a Saturday, you should not complain if this establishment is busy!
Wine is obviously tasty, I prefer the Sauv Blanc, I enjoy they offer Ciders and Beer as well.
Bonus is the gift shop/boutique section, please do not ever get rid of that I love coming to buy my gifts there.
The FOOD Is great! Compliments to the chef's! I enjoy a nice light bite when drinking wine and I feel they have great options. Keep up the good work Roo!

I absolutely love Roo winery! I have been up to visit multiple times and enjoy the scenery, the staff and the no kid policy. If you want a relaxing environment where you don't have to worry about other people's children throwing tantrums this is your place.

The outdoor patio is great to sit back and enjoy with your dog. We brought our golden retriever multiple times and he loved laying in front of the huge fan outside. Food and wine are priced about average for North Georgia wineries. The view and facilities are by far better than any other winery in North Georgia.

I highly recommend to folks who are looking for a nice escape.

Great winery with stunning views! They offered a nice variety of wine flights, including a cider flight. We came here after another winery that was a bit disappointing, and this place definitely didn’t let us down. The wine was delicious, the views were beautiful, and the atmosphere was really welcoming. There’s also a cute gift shop and a good selection of snacks and light bites to enjoy.

The food was average but the view, rooftop decks and the music area are spectacular! Wow! We were told by a friend that we should visit Roo Mountain Vineyards ( our vacation rental - Lakeside Hideaway on Lake Buckhorn is only 4 miles away) but they did not prepare us for the views and the attention to detail throughout the venue. The entire complex has been thoughtfully built to take in all the beautiful vistas. Super easy access, great customer service and good music. We will be back!!!

Not a family friendly winery. Beautiful location and decent wine, but they were a bit harsh about no teens anywhere on the property and could’ve been much kinder about any concerns.
