From brunch to dinner dishes... food is always good! Reminds me of gong to grandma's house! Portions are very generous and almost always make two meals for me. Can't beat the service or the prices!!

This place has the BEST food!!!! Every year when we come to Emerson we stop by. (Sadly we live over 75 miles away and only come to this area once a year for a specific event.) Two years ago when we first found Doug's Place, it was just a little hole- in-the-wall place. It has expanded and grown much bigger. But the food remains the same! Today, my husband got country fried steak, 3 sides, and a biscuit. I got the 4 veggie plate and cornbread. An honest review of my food: **Mashed potatoes and gravy...(choice of brown or white, I chose white...would like to have had a little more gravy-it was so good!) REAL mashed potatoes, even had some small lumps! Yummy! **fried Parmesan squash...very tasty **pinto beans...what can I say??? Just like my momma used to cook! Seasoned to perfection! Crumbled some of my cornbread in the pintos. It don't get no better than that! (Excuse my improper English please!) **cole slaw...I wouldn't be lying if I said it's the best I've ever had, including the slaw I make-and I get compliments on mine all the time. **cornbread...not the best I've ever had but pretty darn good! Especially when crumbled in the pintos! When we arrived, the parking lot was full. And the place was full. But still found a corner to ourselves. The staff were all friendly (Anna, our server was very busy, but took great care of us), food portions are ample and the cost very reasonable. Highly recommend!!!!

I don't recommend anything about Doug's place. the last two times that I've ordered from there the food was just nasty and not even edible. I ordered the all you can eat fish dinner and it came with two pieces of fish that I couldn't even chew. this place has really gone downhill since Doug was running the place. Doug would definitely be disappointed in the service and the quality of food served.

I’ve been going to Doug’s Place since 1999. It’s even better now! The food is that awesome southern cooking. The recent renovation to the place looks great. The waitresses are friendly. The owner is very personable and hands on himself.

Got a chance to visit the original Doug's Place today in Emerson, Georgia for an upcoming article with Cartersville Living-Best Version Media. This place has lots of nostalgia for me as in my younger years, I used to come here often when I was working in the area. Great place and some good southern food. Place looks completely different now and place is beautiful for sure and they did a great job honoring the history through decor and pictures, etc. throughout the building as well. If ever in the area it’s a must stop for sure near Cartersville, Georgia💯👊👊 #localeats #dougsplace #southerncooking #southernfood #supportlocal #cartersville #forksupBartow #cartersvilleliving #cartersvillega #cartersvillegeorgia

Food is bland and unseasoned. Definitely not what it used to be.

Went Friday night service was terrible. Did not receive all of one of the orders. The waitress did not return one time during our meal. I could not eat my meal because of no drink refilled. She waited on everyone around us but never came to our table. As a matter of fact she went numerous times to other tables in her area. When I left I spoke to the owners with little response. This has happened on three different occasions with the new owners so y gave them more try’s but no moo

Will never eat in a place that discriminates against a disabled vet and their service dog. The owner himself turned them away.

We had Doug's place cater our family Chistmas dinner for a second year.
Everything was so delicious and fresh. When he brought it out it was hot as if they had just cooked it. We well be ordering from him next year because he does a fantastic job
A great big thank you for everything.

It took the waitress quite a while to even make it to our table. The past two times we have visited that place, the food has really left something to be desired.

Dougs place is so good and keeps getting better. The new owners have made the place extremely nice while keeping the Dougs place feel especially in the first room. The sweet tea, meatloaf, fried chicken, and spaghetti are to die for. Every dessert is money and those biscuits and breakfast in general kills it!! There isn't a thing I would change!

The service was pretty good, considering it was a busy Friday night. It was fast and friendly but with a few errors. The food was quite good. I knew it was "country cooking" and I thought it would be fun and unhealthy and then perhaps I would feel bad later. We had chicken livers and fried seafood, among other fattening foods, but they were surprisingly light and not at all greasy. The portions were generous though - the livers and fried okra reheated beautifully in the air fryer. It was good quality country food. I would happily return.
