Corazon de Mexico

The only thing I had to eat in days that differed from my family was a salad from here. I ended up in the hospital with ecoli.
This was months ago, and I was not going to say anything, but after reading other reviews and seeing the owner respond harshly, I felt I needed to share my experience.
I did get a call from the CDC (probably because the hospital has to report all cases) and absolutely reported this restaurant.
I have read several reviews with people getting sick... yet the owner is not apologizing, but rather has the audacity to be rude to these poor people. Shameful!

The Food is absolutely amazing! It truly is the closest thing to authentic Mexican food I've ever had in the states.
The service could use some improvement. Our waiter would rather sit back by the drinks and chips and play on his phone rather than provide refills. When he did go to other tables, he walked past us 4 times and didn't stop. Bad part is that I had my cup sitting on the edge of the table so he could notice it.
The atmosphere is very unique. It's a small establishment so don't be surprised if there's a wait on a busy night. But overall, great decor throughout the resturant.

Birria here is not authentic. If you know, you know. Meat wasn't tender, tasted like it was cooked separate from the sauce. Took forever to get someone to get our order taken because apparently our waitress wasn't notified we were her table. I can tell it's veered for a certain demographic like most mexican resturants are.

You'll find another comment down below about violent vommitting and getting sick after eating here. Happened to me as well. I believe it was the egg in my breakfast burrito. I had nothing else that day and I threw up twice that night and it was burrito. Wasn't going to post this until I saw the owner tell the other person to take their review down.

Check on your cooks.....something is not right!

Very rude, the owner is always treating the employees badly in front of the customers, although the employees are good workers, terrible service from the owner.

Walked in, had a seat. At least 2 employees including a wait staffer saw me. After more than a reasonable time, I left. Too bad. Won’t return.

The food was pretty good,My server was kalei and she made the experience great! They have a lot of good drink choices too

The food was not bad for the most part. My wife had a margarita that she said was too sweet and ended up not finishing. She had the taco salad which was soup-like at the bottom. Her comment was that it tasted good but was texturally odd. I had the Taco Carbon with chicken. The chicken was excellent but the corn tortillas had so much fat that I ate just one and picked the chicken out of the second. In fact the place seemed to use so much fat that the floor was slippery on the way to the restroom.

I took my wife and kids to this restaurant last night. We were seated then given chips and salsa. Then we sat for 10 minutes without a single waiter speaking to us or acknowledging we were even there. Then 2 tables were seated after us and their orders were taken. We were sitting near the pick up line so it wasn’t like they didn’t notice us. It was really awkward and eventually we left and went to El Cactus where we’re always greeted with smiles and promptly got our order taken. Please train your employees in the basics of speaking to customers and taking their orders.

BE CAREFUL GUYS! CHECK YOUR BANK STATEMENT… One of their employees actually changed the tip amount. POS —-WOULD NOT RECOMMEND, use only cash if you go.
