My first time eating here. I heard about this place from a friend of mine. I had fried whole catfish and it was excellent. They also have fillets. The staff were very friendly. The pricing and portions are great. They are only open Friday, Saturday and Sunday. They have a big Sunday dinner with different items each week, call and ask what's on the menu. Definitely will be going back.

This place has been in business 70 yrs for many reasons. Of course because it's the best soul food on the planet hands down. Handed down from Mama Rutledge to her Son. You feel the love when you walk into the door. You don't wanna leave just for that reason alone. But the love is obviously also the main ingredient in this amazing food. This is an excellent experience you dont wanna miss. It is off the beaten path and small town where all the locals hang and those places are usually the best. And Rutledge Cafe is better than the best. Jr. Rutledge and his staff are kind, hardworking, honest, and know how to please the tastebuds with the delicious off the chain Soul food Southern recipes that came from Mama Rutledges heart♥️.. Be there!

Best food in Franklin hands down! The staff are all wonderful and treat you like family! The prices are very reasonable, the portions are MORE than adequate, and the atmosphere cant be beat!
