We were looking for good pupusas in the Gainesville area and came here based off the positive reviews. I tried the horchata which was delicious and refreshing, not overly sweet. I tried the corn tamal and a couple of bites of the empanada. The corn tamal was one of the best I've had! It was flavorful and not dry at all. The empanada was perfectly sweet. El Sabor de Oriente is a hidden gem in Gainesville!
It’s a cozy, local spot serving authentic El Salvador food that’s always delicious. After church on Sundays, it’s our go-to place. I usually order the breakfast (which is amazing), or sometimes we go for the soup—both are packed with flavor. My wife loves it too, and our kid is all about the pupusas! If you’ve never had Salvadoran food before, this is the perfect place to start. Highly recommend!

This restaurant is amazing has quality food and good portions, for its price I usually become daily. The atmosphere is really delightful. This restaurant is one of my favorites, it is excellent to come and eat and the quality of the food is Super delicious and the customer service never fails. This restaurant is loving and full of Salvadoran food options so that they want to come and try.
