Probably one of the best Key lime pies I’ve had maybe with the exception of Joe Stone crab in Miami Beach, the crème brûlée was not overpowering with the sugar, and the chocolate cake, and I don’t really like chocolate that much, had a crunch which was unique and was delicious. The passion of Roland was obvious and the culture in the building was clearly something that has been thought through, discussed and curated over time. Bravo ? ? Team Stag, we will be back!!”

It’s sort of a sports bar atmosphere, but who cares when the food is so good and so reasonably priced. There are literally no decent restaurants in Gainesville in spite of the fact that it’s a rather large city and has two major college campuses so this is a welcomed addition. Finally, they have a robot that brings you your food during the week. It’s a lot of fun.”

Very curious to see what else was offered, I returned a few days later to get a burger to go as is advertised on their sign up front. The burger was surprisingly juicy and delicious. What even more surprising was learning that Mama Ruth’s has been around since 1975! With a diverse menu and friendly customer service, I can see why it has continued to thrive.”

If you're in the Oakwood area and craving some Birria Tacos, TIO LOCO is worth a visit! This nice little spot is tucked off to the side of the BP gas station on Hwy 53 (beside the COOKOUT), right off 985. The address might say Gainesville, but for me, this is Oakwood.

The Birria Tacos here are solid—juicy, flavorful, and sure to satisfy your taco cravings. They of course have your other menu items that you may want to check out, but I've been on a birria kick for a while now ? It's definitely a spot to check out if you’re nearby!

“I live in Flowery Branch but recently took over Auto Fitness in Gainesville and I have been looking for a place just like Sweet Magnolia's. When my daughter visited me for lunch I thought we would try it out and I am so glad that we did. The minute we walked in I thought the place looked great and felt so clean. Made it to the counter and was told that it was family owned an everything was made fresh. We were made aware of the specials, the bread and the soup of the day. I am a Rueben sandwich nut and it's so hard to find a really good, authentic one and they nailed it. Fresh corned beef the right amount of sauerkraut and the thousand island was perfect. My daughter got the Cuban and it was also made to perfection. I understand the importance of word of mouth and reviews and if you haven't been to Sweet Magnolia's you've got to visit, you won't be disappointed. Now that I have found them, it will be my go to when I am craving something healthy (great salad menu) or just a fresh sandwich. Oh, the potato salad was so fresh and great as well. Thanks to this great place for changing the way I will be experiencing lunch, I'll be bringing members of my team here weekly as a reward for their work. Looking forward to coming back. “We got there right as the place opened for dinner and were politely greeted. We were seated in a corner booth that was intimate and in a nice little spot for a date, but the table had chunks taken out of it. It was a bit off putting for me not to be able to look around too, but I’m sure if I’d asked they’d have moved us. The table being messed up wasn’t a great impression, though. We were given ice water.
We ordered the Spring Roll & Tom Kha bowl as appetizers. The spring rolls came in a set of 2 & were the same basic generic spring rolls you’d get at many other restaurants- they were quite good. The soup was tasty and made me feel warm & toasty inside.

Masaman Curry is my favorite Thai dish and I try it everywhere I go to eat this kind of food. This one was a winner- the sauce was thicker than I’ve ever had it anywhere. This dish came with a first on the side for me (avocado) and the coconut milk base curry was sweet and mild with a hint of peanut flavor. In it was mixed potatoes, carrot and cashew nuts; I opted for tofu as well. My only regret is that I wish there had been more. It came with a heaping side of rice.
We got the Spicy Basil mild, and the stir fry came our tasting of a grill, mixed with onions, basil leaves, bamboo and sautéed mixed vegetables. I didn’t realize it wouldn’t have any kind of sauce. I asked about it and they advised it comes dry. I hinted at wanting some sort of sauce on the side to my date but he said we have sauce at home and so this dish is waiting in the fridge to be doctored up and eaten (we were full after sharing the other things).

There was Halloween candy at the front of the store. They charged a card fee, which I wish they’d told me about in advance. I didn’t use the restroom there so I can’t attest to that. The service was adequate and they were very nice, but nothing wowed me. The table being all chunked up was kind of yuck too.

Either way I would definitely eat there again- there’s not really any other options for Thai in Gainesville except one other spot with hours I never seem to make. Also the Masaman was really great. I spent a little over $40 which is decent. It was a truly okay experience.

However, it is hard to beat their hot breakfast pancakes, powder sugar dusted French toast, cheddar scrambled eggs, home fries with onions, country-fried steak with scrumptious brown gravy, french fries, fried grouper filets, delicious tiny green lima beans, fresh-brewed sweet iced tea, generous fresh-cut lemon wedges, tasty spaghetti with meat sauce, complimentary jalapeño and lime juice marinated cucumbers, juicy fried chicken legs, crisp corn muffins, home baked brownies, and the hard to find 18-item deluxe salad bar. Those crunchy croutons really rock! The refreshing bite-sized cut-up fruit dishes are an additional favorite, as well as a healthy dessert choice. The only entree I don’t personally care for is the fried salmon patties. ( In my culinary opinion. they need more chopped onions and lemon juice in the mix to cut the fishy flavor.) However, many diners relish them topped with white gravy. I just cannot say enough good comments about this fine eatery and the quality individuals who frequent here. Come sample their cafeteria-style offerings. Many local people frequent this hot spot daily with good reason. Their food is great. You will not be disappointed.”

“This Napoli's location is my absolute favorite pizza spot when I want to have more authentic Italian food and I want to go out to get it. I only gave four stars on atmosphere because it is a little old school as far as the tables and they don't really focus on decor, but I think that's because all of their star quality is in the kitchen and in the service that they provide, which is so much more important than how the restaurant looks. They are great for take out as well, but it's really the food that makes me choose Napoli's for pizza ans Italian food, and it's the service that keeps me coming back this particular Napoli's location in Oakwood!

“It had been nearly 6 years since I last went to Chicken Salad Chick. Me and my mother had the opportunity to go during their grand opening. While the atmosphere and service were fantastic, the chicken salad at the time was just ok. I was curious to see how the restaurant was one afternoon and went there for lunch. There were an average amount of people for lunch.

Going inside, I was surprised to not only see already packed chicken salad that people can purchase to take home for the family, but also that they expanded the menu to included different types of Chicken Salad from savory types, spicy types, and healthier types with fruits and nuts.
I also saw that they now added pimento as another option for people to get along with egg salad as well as the option to place your favorite chicken salad or pimento into a sandwich.
I ended up ordering a trio combo which had a scoop of the Classic Carol, a scoop of the Cranberry Kelli and a side soup of Loaded Potato Salad along with several crackers and a butterscotch cookie. The meal was fantastic with the Cranberry Kelli being the best with both a slightly salty and sweet taste. The soup was really creamy and paired well with the crackers.

There were a large variety of customers from families to people on their lunch break from work. The staff were also really helpful and kind with one of them picking up my finished basket to dispose of the trash as I was about to get up and do it myself. I thanked her for it. I was so impressed by the service and food that I decided to buy some chicken salad to go for my parents. When I told them that it was my first time coming here since they first open, the man at the register smiled and said “ Well, welcome back.” I can start to see why this place has managed to stay popular after all these years.

“Am very excited to see that firehouse is collaborating with Hot Ones to make a delicious sandwich. Firehouse has never been afraid to bring the heat with there sandwiches. As a heat seeker, i have been very very excited to try this sandwich. I went to this location with hopes that they could give me a great review of the sandwich. The girl that took my order was very helpful and recommended the reaper sandwich. The crew they had last night was very friendly and helpful.

The manager was there and was super friendly. He seemed excited that i choose this location over there other local locations. You don't see that much anymore nor do you see a manager actually be nice to the employees anymore either.

Flavor wise of the sandwich was very tasty. In my mind, i thought the sandwich was gonna be much hotter than what it actually was. But the acidity of the pickle helped kick it up just a notch. Maybe, my heat sensitive is just more than others.

This heat seeker will definitely be back for more.

“Went thru the drive thru and it took about 15 minutes. Ordered 8 single cheese with bacon and 5 corn pups. Down the road found pickles on all but one and one slice of bacon not completely done on every one. The corn pups were still cold in the middle where they were not cooked. We were told at the window it took so long because an employee had just walked out and quit. This was 7/12/2023. Not happy.”
