“True peruvian here! Atmosphere here is amazing. They really did well with decorating the place and making it feel like a very high top restaurant. I have a few things to say that they could work on though. First, my family and I ordered the "Jalea", it was okay but normally a "jalea" dish comes with a side sauce such as peruvian tartar sauce. All we had with the jalea was an onion salad on top. The onion salad was not drench with enough lime juice making our jalea appetizer very dry, thats why i'm stating there's usually a sauce that comes with it. Second, the ceviche needs flavor. Either add more salt or aji-no-moto, piementa, comino etc. The ceviche is prepared and looks great it just lacks FLAVOR. This is my second time ordering the ceviche so I know whoever is making it, is not putting enough seasoning. ALSO, it will be nice if they offer "rocoto sauce" because some people like their ceviche spicy. Third, first time our picarones were made to perfection (s/o to our waitress Aubrey? not sure if I spelled that correctly), second time idk if they make the waitresses cook the picarones... but the second time our picarones were not even a circle and were WAY over cook that it crunched when I bit into it.
Overall, the arroz chaufa, causas, lomo/huanciana spagehtti, seafood dip/chips, and pisco sour drinks were great!!! I will give this place an overall rating of 7.5/10!”

“Had a group of 6 Friday 10/4. Had to change the reservation twice due to group size changing and to start off with they were completely accommodating from the moment we walked in. It was service with a smile. The interior is what you would expect for a chophouse in town, but with extra fun hints of nature. The owner was extremely cordial and a true professional from the word go. Our server was extremely accommodating, went out of his way to make sure that he spoke to the kitchen about things that we may need or want to change because yes, we can be a real challenge at times and by we I mean I ? The food came out quickly. It was piping hot and extremely tasty. Wonderful touch at the end was the desserts! Probably one of the best Key lime pies I’ve had maybe with the exception of Joe Stone crab in Miami Beach, the crème brûlée was not overpowering with the sugar, and the chocolate cake, and I don’t really like chocolate that much, had a crunch which was unique and was delicious. The passion of Roland was obvious and the culture in the building was clearly something that has been thought through, discussed and curated over time. Bravo ? ? Team Stag, we will be back!!”

“First of all, the place is extremely clean, the weight staff is incredibly friendly and courteous, and the food is not only delicious and well proportioned but also very reasonably priced considering inflation. It’s sort of a sports bar atmosphere, but who cares when the food is so good and so reasonably priced. There are literally no decent restaurants in Gainesville in spite of the fact that it’s a rather large city and has two major college campuses so this is a welcomed addition. Finally, they have a robot that brings you your food during the week. It’s a lot of fun.”

I recently enjoyed a fantastic lunch with my son at Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen. The friendly host quickly seated us, and our server promptly arrived with warm, buttery croissants and took our drink order.

We started with delicious cheese curds, and our main courses were equally impressive. My son's chicken and shrimp dish was a hit, while I indulged in the renowned country-fried steak with a generous side salad and creamy mashed potatoes.

The portions were incredibly generous
– the side salad could have easily been a meal on its own!

“Today is November 4 approximately 6:10 PM. I pulled up to Healow and was immediately greeted. I didn't have to wait for somebody to announce themselves. I didn't have to say hello 100 times I ordered the spicy steak bowl my top favorite. The kick is out of this world, I was asked if I would like to turn that into a combo for an additional $2.99 and I requested that I would love a lemonade to pair with that and, if I could have some fresh fries by the way, tremendous it probably took about seven minutes from the time I pulled up to the time I ordered to get my food. The fries were so hot and perfectly crispy bowl which quite a punch came out hot and fresh and in the timely order the Hispanic girl I typically see her a lot because I live right by hello Healow order from them a lot. I'm gonna say this is my top favorite place to go based off my bank account. I should probably stop coming, but I just love it so much thanks for having a great staff great food and a great atmosphere”

“just in town for the day and decided to stop in bc my boyfriend is gluten free. the food was delicious and our server was so helpful and friendly. I wish we lived closer, could definitely see this being a regular place for us to eat.”

“We got there right as the place opened for dinner and were politely greeted. We were seated in a corner booth that was intimate and in a nice little spot for a date, but the table had chunks taken out of it. It was a bit off putting for me not to be able to look around too, but I’m sure if I’d asked they’d have moved us. The table being messed up wasn’t a great impression, though. We were given ice water.
We ordered the Spring Roll & Tom Kha bowl as appetizers. The spring rolls came in a set of 2 & were the same basic generic spring rolls you’d get at many other restaurants- they were quite good. The soup was tasty and made me feel warm & toasty inside.

Masaman Curry is my favorite Thai dish and I try it everywhere I go to eat this kind of food. This one was a winner- the sauce was thicker than I’ve ever had it anywhere. This dish came with a first on the side for me (avocado) and the coconut milk base curry was sweet and mild with a hint of peanut flavor. In it was mixed potatoes, carrot and cashew nuts; I opted for tofu as well. My only regret is that I wish there had been more. It came with a heaping side of rice.
We got the Spicy Basil mild, and the stir fry came our tasting of a grill, mixed with onions, basil leaves, bamboo and sautéed mixed vegetables. I didn’t realize it wouldn’t have any kind of sauce. I asked about it and they advised it comes dry. I hinted at wanting some sort of sauce on the side to my date but he said we have sauce at home and so this dish is waiting in the fridge to be doctored up and eaten (we were full after sharing the other things).

There was Halloween candy at the front of the store. They charged a card fee, which I wish they’d told me about in advance. I didn’t use the restroom there so I can’t attest to that. The service was adequate and they were very nice, but nothing wowed me. The table being all chunked up was kind of yuck too.

Either way I would definitely eat there again- there’s not really any other options for Thai in Gainesville except one other spot with hours I never seem to make. Also the Masaman was really great. I spent a little over $40 which is decent. It was a truly okay experience.

Those crunchy croutons really rock! The refreshing bite-sized cut-up fruit dishes are an additional favorite, as well as a healthy dessert choice. The only entree I don’t personally care for is the fried salmon patties. ( In my culinary opinion. they need more chopped onions and lemon juice in the mix to cut the fishy flavor.) However, many diners relish them topped with white gravy. I just cannot say enough good comments about this fine eatery and the quality individuals who frequent here. Come sample their cafeteria-style offerings. Many local people frequent this hot spot daily with good reason. Their food is great. You will not be disappointed.”

If you're in the Oakwood area and craving some Birria Tacos, TIO LOCO is worth a visit! This nice little spot is tucked off to the side of the BP gas station on Hwy 53 (beside the COOKOUT), right off 985. The address might say Gainesville, but for me, this is Oakwood.

The Birria Tacos here are solid—juicy, flavorful, and sure to satisfy your taco cravings. They of course have your other menu items that you may want to check out, but I've been on a birria kick for a while now ? It's definitely a spot to check out if you’re nearby!

“It had been nearly 6 years since I last went to Chicken Salad Chick. Me and my mother had the opportunity to go during their grand opening. While the atmosphere and service were fantastic, the chicken salad at the time was just ok. I was curious to see how the restaurant was one afternoon and went there for lunch. There were an average amount of people for lunch.

Going inside, I was surprised to not only see already packed chicken salad that people can purchase to take home for the family, but also that they expanded the menu to included different types of Chicken Salad from savory types, spicy types, and healthier types with fruits and nuts.
I also saw that they now added pimento as another option for people to get along with egg salad as well as the option to place your favorite chicken salad or pimento into a sandwich.
I ended up ordering a trio combo which had a scoop of the Classic Carol, a scoop of the Cranberry Kelli and a side soup of Loaded Potato Salad along with several crackers and a butterscotch cookie. The meal was fantastic with the Cranberry Kelli being the best with both a slightly salty and sweet taste. The soup was really creamy and paired well with the crackers.

There were a large variety of customers from families to people on their lunch break from work. The staff were also really helpful and kind with one of them picking up my finished basket to dispose of the trash as I was about to get up and do it myself. I thanked her for it. I was so impressed by the service and food that I decided to buy some chicken salad to go for my parents. When I told them that it was my first time coming here since they first open, the man at the register smiled and said “ Well, welcome back.” I can start to see why this place has managed to stay popular after all these years.

The atmosphere inside was quite lively and the service was probably the best I've experienced. The man upfront who I don't remember his name, but had a long white beard was very cordial. The pizzas were quite delicious with the Italian specialty one being our favorite.

What really struck me, though, is the friendly greeting, they take your NAME for your order, not a number!..asked everybody ordering how their day was going and how they were, and when everybody leaves, told everybody thank you and have a great rest of your day..that is SOOO rare these days...usually a short, insincere greeting and rarely a thank you nowadays at most places..this place is a breath of fresh air! Will be back..BTW, I remember Yonah Burger as a kid back in the '70's..and I know it has survived at least one fire, and has been grazed by a tornado during those many years..I hope it continues for many more!”
